My self-summary
Hi there, I'm Ryan! I'm a teacher of English as a second language (ESL).

In my spare time I like to play video games, but I don't often have quite as much time to play them as I used to. Mention some old SNES JPRGs though and you'll immediately have my interest! :D
What I’m doing with my life
Teaching ESL to students from all around the world at a large international school. It's fun, interesting work. The kids always manage to surprise me with their creativity, ability, and just plain absurdity at times.
I’m really good at
Drawing, cooking, being loquacious, using sesquipidalian words. I <3 language.

Quoting an ex boyfriend: my vernacular is spectacular.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm nerdy? I wear glasses. Um, I've got a large nose. heh. Having never met myself, I can't say for sure.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I don't really read many books beyond textbooks, and I don't watch many movies. Sorry if your references go over my head.

I enjoy pop music, video game soundtracks, and various odds and ends I pick up around the place. I have no artists I'm super loyal to, if I like it, I like it.

Video games:
Undertale, Fallout (New Vegas is my favorite), Minecraft, Skyrim, Final Fantasy, Seiken Densetsu, Ragnarok Online, Mother/Earthbound, Langrisser/Warsong, Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross, Star Ocean, Tales of Phantasia, Actraiser, Terranigma, Mega Man, Lennus/Paladin's Quest, Sonic the Hedgehogs 1-3 (anything later is crap). I also enjoy simulation games like Sim City and strategy stuff like Mount and Blade. There are plenty more that I can't think of off the top of my head, pretty much the only stuff I'm not really into is sports games and FPS.

All things curry are amazing. Thai, Japanese, Indian, Singaporean, whatever you can throw at me. I love seafood, particularly sushi/sashimi. Dim sum is another favorite, let's go yum cha! I'm slowly learning more about Korean from my coworkers and have gained such a love for kimchi and bibimbap. Hawaii food is good too: poke, haupia, lomi salmon. But saving the best for last: coffee! It's a major food group for me.
The six things I could never do without
Most important is a place to call my own. I'm a huge homebody and need my own space or I'll lose my mind.
My computer.
My phone. Not that I like to talk on it -- it's just a backup in case the computer has problems.
An internet connection.
A kitchen. I love to cook and I'm always making something.
My family and friends. Even though I like to go all introvert in my cave, I've gotta have those people who I love around me.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Mostly classes, students, things about school. Otherwise, the weekend. "Where's a good happy hour near the school?" is a thought that arises on occasion.
On a typical Friday night I am
Watching YouTube videos, playing games, possibly hanging out with friends. Very probably getting some lesson plans together for the next week's classes. Doing things that are generally not all too exciting.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I've said plenty of things about myself so if you're interested further, you should message me. It's not too difficult to get further information out of me, I'm mostly an open book.
You should message me if
You're looking for some pleasant conversation, someone to catch a movie or dinner with, or to trade Steam IDs and maybe play a game sometime. Friends are great, dates are cool, I don't really have any expectations.
