My self-summary
I am currently splitting my time between Oakland and Davis, but I grew up south of Boston in a small beach town. I was very fortunate to realize at a young age the power of choice and the importance of surrounding yourself by good people. I enjoy meeting new people and learning new things.

I went to college and graduate school in the western part of the state. I love to ski and snowboard. I normally get about 30 days on the mountain each year. I started skydiving professionally during the summers when I was in college and still keep my instructor ratings current, despite not doing it for work anymore.

My interests are very eclectic. I am just as happy climbing a mountain as I am sitting and having a good conversation. I think having new experiences and thinking in new ways are both so important. I really enjoy writing and am writing a book about various adventures I've been on and lessons I've learned. I'm not pretentious enough to think anyone will want to read it; it's really just a hobby.

My hobbies include:
SCUBA diving
Off roading

I believe in working hard and playing hard. I think it is important to dedicate yourself to what you're doing, but to never take yourself too seriously.

I can laugh at most things, especially myself. I think it is important to appreciate what you have, while working for what you want. Also, the little things matter. Help people whenever you can.
What I’m doing with my life
I am very new to the west coast. I transferred here from Boston and am very excited about all the possibilities!

I landed my dream job! It is a fantastic career with a tremendous amount if opportunity. I feel very fortunate to have been given this opportunity to have this career and I feel humbled to be surrounded by such high quality people. The pay and benefits are very good but it can require some odd hours and duties. This is definitely the result of a lifetime of choices. If you can get me to tell you what it is, you're a winner.
I’m really good at
Setting realistic goals and working at them.

Being open minded, but speaking my mind.

Appreciating a good story.

Reevaluating things.

Finding value in each day.
The first things people usually notice about me
I am one of a kind but there are a billion people who look like me.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
There are way too many to list. Anything that is smart, funny, or exciting. I am constantly reading.

A very limited list:
The Catcher in the Rye
Fight Club
Legends of the Fall
The Princess Bride
Lone Survivor
The Hobbit
The West Wing
30 Rock
Boston Legal
The Walking Dead
Six things I could never do without

Something to put down my thoughts on.

Surrounding myself by interesting people.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
I think it is very important to appreciate what you have and work for what you want. It is also very important to help your friends. Sometimes little things matter a lot.

I have an ever growing list of things that I will do. There is a lot out there to experience! I have scratched a lot of the list, but it is much easier to add than accomplish!

Investing. I'm on track to retire at 50 and go adventuring around the world!
On a typical Friday night I am
Looking for adventure.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I hear that women enjoy men who are spontaneous and funny; so on a morning run I jogged up beside a young lady and said "it's ok, I think we lost them".

1) Only one of us thought that was funny;
2) I really am that bad at flirting.
