My self-summary
I'd like to think that I'm honest and loyal (well its what my friends have said about me anyway), that I try to be straight forward with everyone I meet, but ultimately I'd like to think I'm just a down to earth guy. I'm fully aware that this is something to be taken with a grain of salt in an online profile, so I guess these are things you'll have to discover for yourself should a dialog arise.

I am quite passionate about motorcycles and would really like to do more touring and riding than I do, but its been a bit hard to get out of late, but with the weather warming up, I'm hoping this will be something I'll start doing again.

Also, during the winter, I love snowboarding, and spend as much time on the slopes with friends as I can afford too. Its like a whole other world up in the mountains, and a great escape from the city life. Although every time I'm up in the alpine country, it makes me think about wanting to live up there somewhere.

I used to be a bit of an IT guru, but decided it wasn't the career path for me when I realized that working as a programmer is usually just a whole lot of fixing other peoples mistakes and not quite the creative outlet that I had found it to be at uni.

I guess other than this, I try to be an open book so don't hesitate to ask me stuff..

I am random, adventurous, and a little geeky.

I should probably concede that I have actually have a lot of geeky traits, but none of its very specific, sort of a jack of all trades king of nothing type thing.
What I’m doing with my life
Working as a builders apprentice. Late career change from being a programmer, I just find it so much more rewarding.
I’m really good at
I'm very mechanically minded and logical about things, which usually translates into me being good at making/fixing things or figuring out puzzles.

Oh and I enjoy cooking for others. I'm no sous-chef but I'd like to think that I'm not too bad.
The first things people usually notice about me
That I'm generally reserved and quiet at first, but that I'm very easy to talk to once a dialog gets started and that I speak my mind and am very open and honest about things.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I cant say I read a whole lot anymore (or that I've ever been a big reader for that matter (found the internet far too early)), but I love all of Anne Rices works (primarily The Vampire Chronicles). Most of what I did read would just be considered throw away fantasy paperbacks. That said the last thing I read was The God Delusion, and when I get around to it, The Selfish Gene.

Movies, I love movies. Way to many to list but a few that come to mind are Pool Hall Junkies, Shawn of the Dead, Constantine, A Knights Tale, The Thomas Crown Affair, High Fidelity, Training Day, Before Sunset/Sunrise/Midnight, The Lord of the Rings Movies, The Aliens movies, all the Marvel Movies and this list could just go on and on..

Yeah I know i don't really have a specific taste in movies and I pretty much will watch anything trying to judge it on its own merit, but I tend to like films that make you think, or have a good plot twist in them.

Music. Mostly electronic music. I regularly listen to trance, well vocal trance mainly, and some House now too thanks to my housemate. But I'll pretty much listen to anything, if someone else has it on without complaining.

Food, I'll eat just about anything and really quite enjoy going out to restaurants with friends, but one of my favouritest foods would be mince stew with mash potatoes, peas and gravy :) simple, but awesome.
Six things I could never do without
In no particular order..
1 Chosen family (aka friends)
2 Actual family
3 ...
4 Snowboard
5 Laptop/computer + internet
6 Companionship

A motorbike was in at no 3, but apparently seeings I have been without one now for 18 months it would seem I can do without one (at least for now). I would still like to get another, but for the time being its still on the to do list. I'll have to see if I can think of a new thing to take its spot...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Everything.. existence, happiness, love, sex, friendship, companionship, the meaning of life, where am I going, shouldn't I be doing something a little more useful than what I'm doing now, and the fact that ignorance really does seem like bliss.

Most recently I've started to think I need to slow the hell down, because regardless of how indestructible I might think i am, I'm not.
On a typical Friday night I am
Most of the time I find I just kick back at home watching TV/movies, playing games or finding some other way to waste time on the net, either by myself or with a friend.

If the opportunity arises I like to try and get out and about with friends, though I tend to dodge noisy/crowded bars because I find it annoying when you struggle to talk in some of those places, and seeing that I'm not a big drinker, its really not worth the effort. Go quiet locals!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have developed a bit of a kinky streak. its not important all, but it can be a hell of a lot of fun.
You should message me if
You're a bit nerdy/geeky, or
You don't mind getting your hands dirty, or
You're open minded, or
We share some common interests, or
All of the above, or
None of the above and just want to chat

ps. I would be inclined to say that just about everyone has issues when it comes to sending that first message, so if you want to say something, my suggestion is to just say it :) I try and reply to everyone!
