My self-summary
I am that ridiculously smart person that makes you feel jealous and inadequate. I am the person with the dark sense of humor, who criticizes the "noble goal" because it doesn't align with the best inferences on how the world works. I am the prudent person who always wants to make sure that the future is secure.

My interest here is in finding people who share enough of my personality to be interesting. I appreciate and adore intelligent people who can criticize me when I make mistakes and who will not be afraid to do so. I want people who I can share ideas with, and who fascinate me. I also want people who share my values of prudence, good method, creative exploration of possibilities, and a willingness to sensibly disagree.

I also have a Bachelors of Science in Finance and a Bachelors of Science in Economics. I got the degrees because they were practical, and because economics is a fascinating perspective on how the world works. Money and institutionalized incentives DO shape our society and our world.
What I’m doing with my life
I am working as a data analyst. I also continue to read, study, think about, and discuss ideas. I also enjoy video games and finding out new things. I am trying to build a life that I can feel satisfied with, where I do think that my values are best reflected. And I am actively searching for people who can and will be valuable to me.

Also, I'm spending more time with exercise and have a gym membership as part of my efforts.
I’m really good at
I'm really good at thinking. I've always been the person who can succeed at intellectual challenges at a high level. This doesn't mean I can't drop the ball, as everybody will act like an idiot from time to time, but what it does mean is that I can handle complex ideas and learn quickly. It may seem like I am type-cast, but a knife is treated as such because it has a really refined sharp-point.

I have a good sense of humor and enough confidence to be the center of attention in social situations. I've never minded public speaking and I enjoy being a source of entertainment for others whether by wit or whatever have you and I love long conversations.

I am also generally good about being direct, thinking with purpose, and organizing my thoughts and goals to line up.
The first things people usually notice about me
My twisted humor or my intelligence/knowledge. It depends on the setting. I lead with humor when the conversation is light. I lead with brilliance and conceptual analysis when the issues are heavy. Also, most people think I have myself more together than average, as I tend to give off a certain amount of definiteness about what I am and what I think.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Favorite books?
1) The Fatal Conceit by Friedrich Hayek. Agree with some of Hayek's political beliefs or not, I believe that Hayek's view of human society as containing tacit knowledge that evolved over time is valid and valuable.
2) Thus Spake Zarathustra by Nietzsche. I can't claim that I accept everything Nietzschean, but I like his perspective on creators and destroyers.
3) The Prince by Machiavelli. I've historically been a bit of a cynic, and Machiavelli was one of the first major philosophical works I read. As such, it has kind of stuck with me.
4) Consciousness Explained by Dan Dennett. This book tends to remind me of how much I need to study more psychology, and it is itself a book containing a lot of ideas and knowledge.
5) The Ego and It's Own by Max Stirner. This book is a criticism of essentialism and uses the denial of underlying essence to argue for a practical form of egotism. I can't say that I agree with the book in many ways, but I did and still do find it interesting.

I like comedies or action movies. I tend to distrust most documentaries simply because I see a lot of them as just propaganda films. I am most likely to want to watch a movie if it is somehow culturally influential, and I do seek to watch movies that I perceive as culturally important. Somehow, my mind has deeply linked the value of doing something with how well it completes other long-term objectives.

My favorite music tends to be hard rock, heavy metal, and goth metal. So, I like Metallica, I like Sirenia, I like Evanescence. Basically, anything with a good dark mood, and a lot of energy and I am sucked in. Maybe there is something wrong with my head, but I feel like whatever it is, it hasn't prevented me from working.

My favorite foods are pizza and/or steak. Maybe some weird combination of the two would be the top of the list. I also love bread with a passion. However, when it comes to my dining practice my favorite places to eat end up being McDonalds, Cicis, and local pizza places. I tend to focus on things that are good, cheap, and often involve little cooking so I can do other things in my life.

Also, because there is no other place, I enjoy computer games. In fact, I mostly enjoy single player computer RPGs. Some of my favorite games have been Baldur's Gate 2 , Planescape:Torment , Neverwinter Nights 1 and Neverwinter Nights 2, and the Mass Effect series. Also, I like Spiderweb software and have gotten involved with a number of Kickstarter game projects, like Project Eternity, Torment: Tides of Numenera, and Shadowrun Returns

And also because there is no other place, I really enjoy webcomics. So, my favorites are Homestuck, Order of the Stick, Girl Genius, Gunnerkrigg Court, smbc, Questionable Content, and I also enjoy a few others.
The six things I could never do without
1) Internet
2) Books
3) Computers
4) Computer software
5) Human beings.
6) A functioning view on how the world works.

I am clearly fixated on a structured take on reality, as much of what I need either has to do with information or with structuring information.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Nearly everything, but not literally everything. Economics Political theory Sociology Cognitive science Philosophy Psychology Science I love abstract issues. My need for structure is really intense, and so I form large systems of belief to try to order this. Sometimes these systems are wrong. If I have a wrong conclusion, then that'd still be valuable to hear. But thinking is part of trying to act properly in my view.
On a typical Friday night I am
Not very much. Friday isn't a busy night for me, but I find lots of other nights that do have activities. I like staying at home, but I am perfectly willing to go off and do something social, even sometimes at the drop of a hat.

Usually if I go off and do something, it is at least partially a learning experience. As I mentioned earlier, I have a strong tendency to seek other ends, even as I do something entertaining.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am an atheist, and have historically had a more complicated relationship with religion, although my interest in theology has mostly faded.(I'm still willing to study religion, but it's not as big of a deal as it used to be) I am a deconvert from a more conservative Christian perspective. I also enjoy transgressive literature just because for some reason I really enjoy reading things outside of what is normal, so I like things like American Psycho, Fight Club, Doug Coupland, or the writings of Marquis de Sade. As well, I have an interest in personality tests, and am willing to share a few of my results on the more informal ones:

MBTI Typology: INTJ
Four Humors: Choleric/Melancholic(or vice versa)
Enneagram: 5(often with a 6 wing) (I also get counterphobic 6 with a 5 wing)
Match.com personality test: Director/Builder

Also, I like transhumanism. I don't think that modern mankind is the end of the development of humanity.

Finally, I was a National Merit Scholar, so when I say that I'm smart, I really do mean that I am highly intelligent.
You should message me if
you are an expert at pretending brilliance, or if you just have some piece of knowledge that you want to share, or some question to ask of me.

If you have a good sense of humor.

If you simply are willing to test the situation out a bit.

If you strongly agree with me or disagree with me on something.
