A cynical romantic. A devious and mischievous vegetarian.
...enjoying my career while reveling in my awesome little boy. I've been burning the candle at both ends a lot lately to fit in time to read, write, and create, though all of these things take a significant devotion of time, so its a complicated balance. I'm not one to get complacent or to settle for what I have at that moment for very long. I seem to be always driving forward, and it think it keeps me young.
Books - I'm a realist in life, but my reading and writing is generally an escape from the mundane. I'll read history and philosophy in spurts, with some classics mixed in from time to time. Poetry when the mood strikes me, and I am fairly accomplished with it in my writing (inspiration occurring with frustrating randomness). I'm an avid reader and a total literary snob. Here are a few examples. Even a small portion of what I've read over my life would be far too many to name...
Game of Thrones (Georg RR Martin), Kushiel's Dart (Jacquiline Carey), Troy (David Gemmel). Anything by Steven Brust or Steve Perry. Fitzgerald and Hemingway. Poe, primarily in his poetry. Jack White, William Gibson, Scott Lynch, Orson Scot Card, Judith Tarr.
Music - I'm all over the board with music. Generally hate country. Could probably not connect a band to a song if my life depended on it. That doesn't indicate that I'm not into music though. I'm all about what it does to/for me, I just don't so a lot of research. Here are some examples of my favorite bands/artists: Morphine, Smashing Pumpkins, Damien Rice, Patty Griffin, Bennie Benassi, Daft Punk, Shiny Toy Guns, Tool, Blue October, Patty Griffin.
Food: Strictly vegetarian, but not snobby about it. Like religion, to me this is a personal choice that has nothing to do with anyone else. I mix with the carnivores just fine.
My ambition. Harder, better, faster, stronger...
Poetry and prose...the pieces I've written, the ideas I'll never quite get to, and those fleeting moment of inspiration when it all flows easily.
A healthy mind, body, and spirit...or the desire to make them so.
Even in Salt Lake City, this is still true.
...ok, so back to the title...

Sarcasm doesn't consistently go over your head.
You aren't going to try and recruit me to your religion, politics, or cult...in all seriousness, just have an open mind.
