My self-summary
I'm revamping the profile here. I haven't messed with it too much since I moved to Austin in May. So, yeah, I'm Tom. I moved from Nashville, TN. I worked a few different jobs there after college, none of which pertained to my degree, got fed up with them and decided to pursue something I love, so I moved to Austin and started culinary school. Easily one of the best decisions of my life. Its been tough and fulfilling in so many ways. I just finished school and work as a line cook. I won't mention my restaurant but its pretty bad ass..

I eventually want to own my own restaurant. I'm not sure what type of cuisine yet. I just love being in the kitchen, cooking and learning about food.

Other interests include, basketball, rock climbing (which I haven't gotten to do in months!), travel, trying new restaurants, watching my friends make idiots of themselves singing karaoke, reading and generally any kind of shenanigans I can get into. I'm the adventurous sort..

Message me if you want to know more!
What I’m doing with my life
Grabbing it by the balls and making the most out of it. I refuse to sit by and let life pass me up. I try to experience all that I can in the time that I have. I keep things pushing and try and weed complacency out as often as I can.

But on a more tangible note, I cook a lot.. I work a couple jobs and pick up gigs catering with friends from time to time too..
I’m really good at
Talking my way into or out of things..
The first things people usually notice about me
The first things people usually notice about me are my eyes. They change all the time and get crazy shades of green..
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Kitchen Confidential, Harry Potter, A song of Ice and Fire series, The Hunger Games Trilogy, Perks of Being a Wallflower, Where the Wild Things Are, The French Laundry Cookbook (don't judge, its a good read and beautiful to look at), The Soul of a Chef, Ender's Game... The list goes on..

Movies: The Godfather parts 1 and 2, The Hangover, Talladega Nights, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Boondock Saints, Snatch, Coffee and Cigarettes, Under Great White Northern Lights, and my favorite Chick Flick is the Notebook. I also only really like "scary" movies if I go with someone who gets scared :)

Music: The White Stripes, The Raconteurs, Outkast, Justin Townes Earl, HeyPenny, The Dead Weather, The Rollingstones, The Avett Brothers, Old Crow Medicine Show, Eric Church, Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears, The Alabama Shakes, the Black Keys, odd future, Kendrick Lamar etc

Food: Yes, please! Seriously, I like every ingredient aside from cherries, black olives and cooked spinach.. Cherries are because of taste, the black olives are because I got sick off of them as a child and have never been able to take them since and cooked spinach is a texture thing.. I do like pork.. If it was all I could ever eat again I'd be ok with that.. And I would make a baby cry for a slice of cold sweet watermelon.. Call me cruel, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do!

Tv: game of thrones, Spartacus, breaking bad, sons of anarchy, mad men, eastbound and down, archer, top chef.. I watch others too but those are the important ones..
Six things I could never do without
1. Friends
2. Music
3. My iPhone (As much as I really hate to admit it)
4. cooking
5. Good Books
6. Great Food
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What type of food I want to make and what type of restaurant I want to own one day.. And where my life will take me next..
On a typical Friday night I am
I dont really do typical and I like to fly by the seat of my pants so I keep my options open.. There isnt much I'll say no to as long as I have good people around me..

But usually, I'm working before I get into anything.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I've been bar hopping wearing nothing but boxer briefs and a pair of red chuck Taylor's in 36 degree weather..
You should message me if
You should message me if you're interested, right? Not sure what to say here. Here's what I dig in a woman though:

Confidence. And not the bitchy, snappy confidence, but just someone who knows who they are and who they are not and is not only ok with it, but who really likes who they see in the mirror.

Smile: I'm a sucker for a great smile.

Intelligence: If you need me to explain this one, don't worry about messaging me.

Ambition: I want to find someone who knows what they want in life and is working their ass off to get there. Its important.

And finally, only message me if you are going to put some effort into it. I know every single one of you want a guy to be refreshing and funny when we message you. I want the same. If you can't muster up more than "hey" or "you have pretty eyes", don't be upset if I don't respond. Wow me ladies!
