My self-summary
I'm an over-educated know-it-all ex-scientist carrying around a lone-wolf complex and have lots of stories to tell about the world, physics, near-death experiences (as in how I nearly managed to kill myself on accident, not the metaphysical kind), and a plethora of other things when properly prompted.

I spend time hiking, sailing (when there is wind), fixing up my house, traveling, painting, gardening, cooking (I am a bit messy and inefficient - but inefficient food is the tastiest), sporadically doing yoga, playing with fire, harassing my totally awesome cat, hunting for investment properties, and whatever else catches my attention.

I have a terminal case of wanderlust and love to travel - tho I have to admit it's been more than a year since i made a significant trip. I've lived in Africa and Europe, and have never really fully re-adapted to American life, so if you want a good-ol' American flag-waiving, sports-watching boy, you can stop reading now.

I don't much care about your hair/eye color, race, religion (though atheists are probably easiest), breast size, or how many solar orbits you've completed (as long as you've become approximately adult-like and don't seem old).

What I do care about: you are adventurous, open minded, reliable, can hold up your end of an interesting conversation, know how to keep your own head above water when it comes to everyday life, enjoy some socially-discrete-but-privately-explicit kink in your love-life, your mental aberrations are relatively benign, and you are not a dyed-in-the-wool muggle or part of the Legion of Normals. It would be nice if you were a good travel companion.
What I’m doing with my life
accumulating data, correlating, exploring, learning, scheming.
I’m really good at
almost anything that manages to catch my attention for more than a couple months.
The first things people usually notice about me
people comment on the size of my hands a lot, but i don't know if that is the *first* thing they notice. I also get a lot of compliments on my ass, but again this isn't really the 'first' thing people notice. I'd like to say it is my intellect they notice first, but really I have no idea. (currently probably my hair - it's getting a bit fluffy)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Sci-fi and fantasy shamelessly rule the day as far as books, series, and movies, with other stuff thrown in so as to avoid mental constipation. Oh, and zombies.

Favorite authors: Ursula LeGuin, David Brin, Verner Vinge, Neal Stephenson, Isaac Asimov, Neil Gaimen, H.G. Wells, Jules Verne, ... etc. Currently reading 'Isaac Asimov's Guide to the Bible, Vols. I and II', which is really fascinating - even for an atheist.

Food: anything good. Particular to high-end pizza (not Domino's or Pizza Hut), Thai, Mexican, and sushi. Not so much into pickled toad or boiled sea cucumber.

Music: Shpongle, Lamb, Led Zeppelin, Hendrix, Bowie, Beethoven, Bach, Sneaker Pimps, Foo Fighters, Pixies, Ladytron, Gorillaz, Johnny Cash, Portishead, Neil Diamond, Marlene Dietrich, Amon Tobin, Joy Division, Radiohead, Black Sabbath, Kilowatts, Bowie, Chemical Brothers, Crystal Method, Vivladi, Beatles, Salmonella Dub, ... and much more. Very open to being exposed to your favorite music.

I don't/won't watch sports (exceptions: tennis and some Olympic events) or listen to contemporary country music (no exceptions to the latter).
Six things I could never do without
Orange juice, music, isopropyl alcohol, a good pillow, an x-acto knife, and Legos
I spend a lot of time thinking about
parallel versus perpendicular universes. I have become convinced the perpendicular ones are far more relevant. That, and how the age of the universe is probably non-determinant for beings that can't even fully grasp what time is.

A little more down to Earth: Where my keys have gotten off to.
On a typical Friday night I am
who has time for typical?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am partial to entheogenic beings.
You should message me if like kinky, in-shape, brainy, semi-geeky guys that love to travel and don't need a mother. want to know how some science thingy works. are partial to the combination of adventurous AND reliable.

... if you are good at writing screenplays - I have a script in my head, and could use some help getting it on paper.

... you like sailing on catamarans (and can wait for a windy day)
The two of us
