My self-summary
Hi. I like pear cider, the sound rain makes on the window and a cold shower after a long run on a warm day. I'm emotional but rational (hopefully each when it's appropriate, but not always). I am logical and thankful that I have the intelligence to appreciate beauty when I see it but frustrated that I can't write or paint or make anything beautiful myself. I am passionate about good music and good films, either have the ability to take you away from yourself. I am naturally optimistic but sometimes have to work at being open minded. I enjoy running; something about being outside with no one able to contact me and with no distractions. It makes me feel free.

I like people who are optimistic and share my belief that moths are way cooler then butterflies. When asked; a friend described me as thoughtful, searching, and sweet, which was nice.
What I’m doing with my life
I work full time for a secretive international media company you've never heard of (like I said, we're secretive). I enjoy it (mostly), given how many people seem to hate their job I think I'm fairly lucky.

Ah, but what am I actually doing with my life? Sadly I'm not able to create great works of art or write intricately detailed novels so I'm doing my best to be a decent human being, and have some fun along the way. I'm not particularly interested in accumulating lots and lots of stuff to treasure. People, yes. Things? no.
I’m really good at
Fixing old cars (although that's through experience rather then any innate ability); running, computer stuff. I have a Physics degree so that too I suppose. Losing myself in a good book or while watching a really good film or while listening to music.
The first things people usually notice about me
Shy, etc.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Book: 1984. I read it when i was growing up and it made me realise certain truths; how important freedom is, how lucky we are that we are free, and that it's everyones duty to protect that freedom from those who would take it away. It gave me some perspective that I had sorely lacked up until that point.

Film: Before Sunrise. Not quite as mesmerisingly pretty as Gattaca but I think it very perfectly captures the world I would like to live in, plus everything from the acting to the script to the direction is done beautifully delicately. Only some sort of soulless monster wouldn't be moved by the last few scenes.

Music: 'Nicest Thing' by Kate Nash. It's very, very sad and sung by someone who lets that emotion come through. Music for fun has it's place but the songs I remember are those that have some passion in them. In 'Nicest Thing' you can hear the sadness and longing in her voice as well as the words. Hauntingly beautiful.

Food: Chocolate (I know, I'm such a girl)

Show: 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer'. For the part where Giles finds Miss Calendar.
Six things I could never do without
Friends & Family
My freedom and independance
Good music, films and literature
Some decent woods to go running in
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Past loves.
On a typical Friday night I am
Having a quiet night with friends. Either down the pub or watching a film together. If you do, literally, mean at night I'll be asleep.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
When I start a new book, I turn to the last page and read the final word first.
You should message me if
I want us to stay up all night listening to music. I want to climb the Eiffel Tower with you. I want to watch John Hughes movies with you on a rainy Sunday afternoon. I want to catch spiders for you. I want to argue with you about which is Iain Bank’s best novel. I want to hold your hand as we walk along the beach, listening to the sound the waves make as they crash onto the shore. I want to count the stars with you.
The two of us
