My self-summary
I'm just trying this out because it's something different and I can be pretty spontaneous (i.e. impulsive... but in a good way, I promise), so why not? About me: I'm 27, wrote a book and am working on the second (I have a series in mind), so I'm waiting to see how that turns out, and I'm currently looking for work. I also have a "damn good beard" I'm told. My best friend's words. Not mine. I guess I'm just looking to get to know someone new. If a relationship comes out of it that's nice, but I also like writing letters so if that's all this amounts to, I'm fine with that. If you're willing to take the chance to get to know someone different, so am I.
What I’m doing with my life
I graduated from college with a degree in Communication and Psychology, but my real passion is writing. I love to write. I finished writing the first book in a planned series and I coincidently just published it tonight so I'm waiting to see how that turns out. I mostly write for my own pleasure, as well as my friends, but if I can make money doing something I love I won't complain. Like most people I know, while I graduated with a communication degree, I am in a completely unrelated field--I work as a billing coordinator in a dental office, which is ironic when you consider how terrible at math I was growing up.
I’m really good at
My best friend says I'm really good at self-depreciation *cough* but I guess I'm a pretty good writer. I mean my mother says so, so it has to be true. Right? RIGHT? Kidding. I've been told I've got a pretty good sense of humor if you like quirkiness. I'm also very knowledgeable as far as movies or television is concerned, so if you're looking for a conversation on that subject, I'm your guy.
The first things people usually notice about me
As far as physical features are concerned I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say it's my beard. It's kind of hard to miss. Joking. I have been repeatedly told that my eyes are really blue. Personality-wise, I guess I hope they notice I have a sense of humor.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
As far as books are concerned, to name a few:

George R. R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire series (Game of Thrones)
Stephen King
J.K. Rowling
R.L Stine (He exists, I swear it!)
Dennis Lehane
As far as literature goes I tend to lean more towards the horror element.

TV Shows:

Community, Parks and Recreation, Dexter, Six Feet Under, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Archer, The Wire, Downton Abbey (so weirdly addictive), BSG, Supernatural, Rome, Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Being Human (BBC and Syfy), Doctor Who, The X Files, Firefly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Cabin In The Woods, Gangs of New York, Goodfellas, 3:10 To Yuma, Shawshank Redemption, Dawn of the Dead, Let The Right One In, The Room (so awful it's good), Troll 2 (so bad it's good), The Departed, Last of the Mohicans, Dawn of the Dead, Night of the Living Dead, Psycho, Planes, Trains, and Automobiles, Dumb and Dumber, The Wild Bunch, Lonesome Dove, Scream, Aliens, 28 Days Later, Invasion of the Body Snatchers (The Sutherland version), Drive, Place Beyond the Pines, North & South (I'm crazy for Swayze), Beauty and the Beast, Lion King, Finding Nemo, Silence of the Lambs, Evil Dead, Red Dragon, Insidious, Sinister

The Antlers, The National, The Beatles, Florence + The Machine, Arcade Fire, Tegan & Sara (have a bit of a crush on them to be honest), David Bowie, The Eagles, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Broken Social Scene, Metric, Nine Inch Nails, Bob Dylan, Porcupine Tree, Stars, Anathema, Bat for Lashes, Billy Idol, Billy Joel, The Birthday Massacre, The Black Angels, The Black Keys, Bon Iver, The Cars, Coldplay (yeah, I like them), Depeche Mode, Death Cab for Cutie, David Bowie, Feist, Frightened Rabbit, Johnny Cash, Kate Bush, The Killers, M83 (I confess I thought the Oblivion soundtrack was phenomenal), Peter Gabriel, and 80's music.

I'm sure I'm forgetting about something... but I'm just as sure that it will come up in conversation later on, so let's move on.

P.S. Long enough for you?
The six things I could never do without
1. Music
2. My laptop
3. Writing: it keeps me sane
4.A good book to read
5. My friends
6. My family
I spend a lot of time thinking about
If people are going to like my next book as much as my first. Here's hoping I don't let them down!
On a typical Friday night I am
My friends don't go out Friday nights. That's reserved for Saturdays, apparently. Lame, I know. I guess I spend most of my Friday nights writing, watching movies, and listening to music. I'm willing to go out if it's offered though.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I cried during The Sixth Sense.... yup. Fun time. You should ask me about it.
You should message me if
I'm not necessarily looking for a relationship, but if one develops I have no problem with that. I'm not into one night stands so if that's your thing, don't bother.

Also, if you're a writer. I like talking to other writers.
