My self-summary
I'm always interested in creative people, especially if they're into movies. Cinerama, anyone?

I'm fortunate to have a creative job that I like very much, but if I had the chance I'd go travel the world instead. My sense of humor leans towards snarky but I have a squishy sentimental interior. I'm easy to be around, curious about many things, stable, chill, determined, independent, funny.

I am health conscious and work out, nothing insane, but I also love a good decadent dessert. I am blessed with good genes and look younger than I am...thanks, Mom! Or maybe it's just the healthy living. Whatever it is, I'll take it.

I like to paint and make things; I can make my own clothes. I consider watching a good movie or reading a novel a productive use of my time. I’ve done a fair amount of traveling and want to do a lot more. Last year was Italy, hoping that next year can be Spain and Portugal, or perhaps the UK to visit friends. I'll have to save up a small fortune to go to Japan (next on the list.)

People often assume I’m outgoing and I do like to socialize, but I prefer one-on-one or small groups.

If you've read all this, thank you! I like you already.
What I’m doing with my life
Working (luckily I like my job.) Doing my best to stay fit and eat healthy but also enjoy myself. Watching as many movies as I can. Reading lots of books. Plotting another trip abroad. Making it up as I go.
I’m really good at
Getting distracted. Making stuff look good.
Also: making lists, making my own clothes, painting.
I'll ask you how you are, and actually listen to what you have to say.
I've got a great laugh. Or so I'm told.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Anything by Julian Barnes and Paul Auster; I read a lot. I also like Ethan Canin, Dan Chaon, Rick DeMarinis, Richard Yates, Elizabeth Strout. Lately I've been reading some thrillers by Jo Nesbo. Cracking good stuff!

TV: Luther, London Spy, Kimmy Schmidt, Lady Dynamite. Just finished binge watching Stranger Things.

Movies: God, where do I begin? I love movies. Only Lovers Left Alive, Beginners, Midnight in Paris, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, The Lego Movie (yes, it was insanely funny), Moon, Ex Machina, Insomnia (the original), HeadHunters.

Music: Heavily into Ryan Adams (again) and Lord Huron at the moment. I am also very fond of dance music, like Chainsmokers , Royksopp, and Robyn (one of my all time favorites.) I like Tove Lo a lot, who isn't really dance music but she's Swedish too, does that count?

Food: seafood, indian, vietnamese, thai, japanese (as long as it's not raw!) I loved Canlis. I like Rock Creek, Monsoon, the 5 Spot, and Cafe Flora. I'm a bit of a foodie.

Artists: Paul Klee, Cy Twombly.
Photographers: Vivian Maier, Robert Mapplethorpe.
The six things I could never do without
My tribe (family, true friends.)
Chocolate.
Tasty vittles.
Movies.
Books. Shall we call those two 'culture'?
Technology
A few more i'm trying to decide between. Can i have more than six?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Life, people, traveling, food.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out for a bite to eat with a friend, or relaxing at home with a movie and a cat on my lap.
You should message me if
If anything I wrote inspires you.
If you can write reasonably well, and understand how to use a semicolon.
