My self-summary
I swim in rivers, wander the hills, sleep under stars, eat man food, travel to distant lands and love my children. You are full of brightness, curiosity and have an alluring, indestructible spirit.

I also enjoy doing nothing from time to time, reading by the woodstove or sitting in the forest admiring silence. You speak dog, are partially rebellious but behave well when you want to.

I am naturally devoted and energized, and usually but not always terribly organized or self-disciplined. You are relentlessly creative, driven but laid-back, Big City and Smallville, interested in building community - both local and global.

Sometimes it feels like my consulting business hangs together by twine, thumbtacks and duct tape, but everything always works out for the best. Isn't that how life is? A tiny but graceful place amid the swirl. You think so, too, and want a strong and fun partner with whom share the mystery and beauty.

You are smart, joyful, sexy and forever creating adventure. So am I. Let's see where the adventure takes us.
What I’m doing with my life
Taking it breath-by-breath, improvising, raising my girls, healing, nurturing, finding stillness, finding friends, deep-diving my wildness, getting outside, playing music, setting intentions and letting the right things (women, books, ideas, inspiration, money, etc.) show up instead of forcing it, being outrageous and impulsive, finding my power in gratitude and the thrumming interconnectedness of creation.

Specifics? Last year I pedaled my bike across Israel to support a great peace and environmental organization; I’m a volunteer soccer coach to a gaggle of nine-year-old girls named the Green Grinches; I hiked the length of the Long Trail and spent a month knocking around Wyoming’s Wind River Range; I bonded hopelessly with a Puerto Rican beach mutt on a recent vacation and brought him home, spending a small fortune for this “free” dog in the process; I surf the New Hampshire coast (really); I’m on a Bodhisattva path; I recently streaked a famous sports venue (see the private thingy below).
I’m really good at
Getting to the heart of things and then laughing about it. Oh, and climbing trees. And stories. I'm good at telling stories. The world is so full.
The first things people usually notice about me
My kind and mischievous eyes. You might wonder what I’m thinking. But don’t worry, it will be good.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Sailing Alone Around the Room, Cathedral, The Lone Ranger and Tonto Fistfight in Heaven, A Good Man is Hard to Find(!), Into the Wild, A New Earth, The Wave, Dharma Punx, Start Where You Are, The Last American Man, Mountaineering: Freedom of the Hills, The Essential Rumi, In Search of Captain Zero, Women Who Run With the Wolves, Soulcraft. Keep going?

Movies: Little Miss Sunshine, Dr. Strangelove, Into the Wild, Dogtown and Z Boys, Brokeback Mountain, Werner Herzog.

Music: Chili Peppers, Joe Bonamassa, Pearl Jam, Santana, Spanish Harlem Orchestra, U2, Victor Manuel, The Ramones, Bob Marley, The Clash, Johnny Lee Hooker, Joan Baez, Joni Mitchell, Powder Kegs, Old Crow Medicine Show, Beck, Krishna Das, Jovino Dos Santos. Can you say "eclectic"?

Shows: I don't really get TV. By “get” I mean I don’t understand it. Or maybe it doesn’t understand me. But I really liked "Weeds", so maybe there's hope.

Food: I enjoy food generally and love to cook for others – and cooking together on a date. It’s fun to play in the kitchen as two. Add wine, upbeat music, good conversation and spice to taste. Serves two nicely.
The six things I could never do without
Humor, adventure, curiosity, stillness, stories, dogs, sex, art, sky, subversion, rule-breaking.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What it is I plan to do with my one wild and precious life. (Thanks, Mary Oliver.)
On a typical Friday night I am
Scenario 1: Lighting candles and saying motzi over a chewy Stone Soup challah with my girls -- just before watching "Happy Feet" for our family movie night.

Scenario 2: Coming back to town from a run or ride in the mountains and meeting a friend downtown for a beer and a bite.

Scenario 3: Running with my dog, eating alone on the back deck, noodling the guitar, reading, watching the setting sun glaze the trees, watching "Weeds", going to bed early.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I recently streaked a famous sports venue. Ask (and offer up your own good story) and I might tell you how it went down.
You should message me if
I catch your eye and you feel like you might catch mine. And/or you know how to unicycle.
