My self-summary
Moved to Seattle (from NYC), a year ago, and still looking for friends.

Life story in a nutshell: I grew up orthodox jewish in New York, escaped to university in Arizona (intended to study video game design, ended up doing graphic design), taught English in Japan, went back to NYC, worked for a couple years at a web design agency, went back to school (SVA) for a year and a half to study illustration and cartooning (which was exciting and intimidating, but mostly awesome), and now I'm a UX Designer and I make comics for fun. : )

I'm definitely a nerd at heart, but I don't have as much time to embrace it as I'd like these days. I love stuff like drawing, video games, tabletop RPGs, Japanese, and Icelandic. : D

Looking to form fun and meaningful friendships in the city I hope will be my forever home.
What I’m doing with my life
At the moment, working as a UX Designer, and trying to be a cartoonist on the side. (I did a kickstarter in March 2015 for my travelogue comic Thoughts From Iceland, feel free to look it up and check it out. : )

I also have an embarrassingly large number of games I purchased during holiday sales on steam, which I have yet even to install.

I usually-but-not-always go to a Japanese/English language exchange meetup with my boyfriend on Monday nights on Capitol Hill, which can be fun.

I also wanna get back to taking Icelandic classes again at some point...
I’m really good at
Making people laugh, intelligent conversation, debating (when necessary), and getting lost. Also, telling unnecessarily long stories. : D

Things I aspire to be good at: making comics, imagining others complexly.

Oh, and Smash Bros. Bring it. o_o;
The first things people usually notice about me
Umm... I have no idea. My height? I'm kinda short - 5'5".
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
OMGFAVORITES (I love this game):

Favorite Photographer: Anthony Goicolea

Favorite Artist: JC Leyendecker

Favorite Director: Michel Gondry

Favorite book: not sure. The God Delusion? It's what pushed me over the edge from agnosticism to atheism, so it holds kind of a special place in my heart. Though I recognize that Dawkins is quite a knob. Maybe something by Scott Heim? My favorite play is The Glass Menagerie. Big fan of John Green, and Patrick Rothfuss. :S

Favorite movie: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. I.. don't know how many times I've watched this movie, but I seem to find something new each time. Know how some people have a book they can read a million times? That's this movie for me.

Favorite animated movie: Paprika (the soundtrack is also amazing).

Favorite band: Múm, but other favorites, just to list a few, include Ólöf Arnadalds, Shugo Tokumaru, Psapp, Jónsi, José González, Jonathan Coulton, Sufjan Stevens...

Favorite video game: Earthbound

Favorite color: red

Favorite food: Not sure, possibly Japanese. Oh, and I don't eat meat, except fish meat, generally. Every once in a while, though, I make an exception for good meat from nice farms with happy animals that don't eat poison (blah blah etc).
The six things I could never do without
Let's seeee...... I guuueeessss...

1. contacts or glasses (and special eyedrops I have to take 3x/day)
2. inspiration/creative awesomeness! (Art / art supplies, video games, books / graphic novels / comics)
3. music
4. personal hygiene products
5. bed / pillows / covers
6. Nerdfighteria (DFTBA!)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Generally: How I'm going to find time to do everything I want to do.

Lately: Relationships, how do they work? Also, friends - why are all of mine in other states or countries?
On a typical Friday night I am
These days Friday night tends to be dinner with the boyfriend, followed by something like video games and/or netflix, and/or comics together at my place. Last weekend (as of this writing), we went on a double-date. Adventurous.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Sometimes, when I'm looking at someone's profile, and I'm starting to become rather interested, but then I go through some of their "The Two of Us" page questions and see a bunch of answers that I find totally offensive, I want to send them a message and say, "Can we discuss why you think x, y and z? Seriously? You monster." But I never do. X_x;

Related to the above - if you experience that with me, I'd really be interested in hearing about it, because a LOT of my answers are from a million years ago when I was young and stupid. I'm sure a lot of my questions should be updated, but there are so many!

Given the chance, I would marry Jonathan Coulton. Oh yes. And I think I'd go straight for Amanda Palmer. At least once.
You should message me if
If you are a nerdfighter.

Or if you wanna practice Japanese.

Or if you have a casual tabletop rpg campaign running that I might be able to join.

Or if you just want to. : )

気になったら気軽にメッセージちょうだい。(^_^) Og ég tala smá (smá!) íslensku.
