My self-summary
As my OKC name says, I am warm, smart and have a big heart; I'm also humorous, authentic, curious and seldom superficial. I treasure authentic, inquisitive conversation; and share genuinely when being heard, listen intently if you are forthright, genuine.
While I enjoy most anything social, I would often choose a night out with a few close friends over going to a party with lots of people.
I lived in Boston thru HS - and have a large extended family there - went to college and worked in NYC, came to the peninsula for grad school 30 years ago and have never left.
I 'd love to meet a woman who wants to work together to develop a relationship in which we are each supporter, friend, confidant, teammate and lover to the other.
What I’m doing with my life
Continuing to develop my Self ... as a person, as a man, as a father, as a management professional, as an organized administrator and head of household - and fitting in more fun and relaxation along the way.
I’m really good at
Listening and supporting; seeing others' points of view, being genuine, flexible and spontaneous. I'm pretty good at cooking, entertaining, photography and internet/technology
The first things people usually notice about me
Friends tell me their first impressions were that I am: easy-going, articulate, warm, kind, modest, respectful, candid, intelligent, and have a good sense of humor.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I'm really bad at recalling lists of favorites.... so, these are random recall of titles about which I have pleasant memories or insights:
Books: Tipping Point, Da Vinci Code, Great Gatsby, Isaacson's Steve Jobs bio (currently reading). Generally: photo imagery books, spy and action fiction e.g., Ludlum, historical fiction...
Movies: oh so many ... Awakenings, Flowers for Algernon, Hunt for Red October, Good Will Hunting, Dances With Wolves, Mr. Brown, Braveheart, Shakespeare in Love, Erin Brockovich, The Bird Cage; Kings Speech ...
Music: jazz, vocal jazz, classical; pop; folk, some rock n roll.
Food: you name it - very eclectic.
Six things I could never do without
* Friends and family
* Engaged discussion spiced with humor
* Connections - eye contact, caring touches, openness
* Deepening my relationship with my 2 teenage daughters
* Relaxing: Movies, day trips, photography, NY Times, travel
* Computer with high speed internet connection
I spend a lot of time thinking about
* What I am doing next ..... next tasks, priorities for today, this week .... next phase of life (1 daughter in college, 1 junior in HS)
* How to improve myself.
* The almost daily examples of new services and new "normal' ways of doing things - that we are in period of transition to very new ways people live, learn and work.
On a typical Friday night I am
Now that both daughters are out of the house there's no typical: movie at home, dinner with friends, walk, edit and web publish photos....
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I tend to be psychologically minded - my MBTI is ISFP and I'm an Enneagram 9 Type. Also, I've been 'analyzed' - if this is an issue for you then we're not a match.
You should message me if
You are authentic, sensitive, kind, smart, able to laugh at yourself and inclined to pursue lifelong growth and learning.
