My self-summary
I like stumbling upon interesting things randomly. This can involve finding an old L Ron Hubbard novel while looking through a book bin, or wandering around and happening upon something cool.

I'm uprooting my life shortly to go and travel for maybe 6 months.

I find myself rethinking about my beliefs and why I hold them. I don't really know enough about science in general to support my stance on religion, but I'm hoping to changing that within the next year.

I'm not into watching sports or getting upset over sports teams.

I am sleepy, introspective, and a smartass
What I’m doing with my life
Listening to good music.
Getting better at cooking.
Travelling to Germany, Netherlands, France and maybe Italy, then Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Thailand in September.
Letting people surf on my couch, and hoping to surf on other's couches while in Europe. If you want to surf my couch here's my profile -

Working as a software developer and dropping out of my masters due to aforementioned travel plans.

After that... moving somewhere not Perth!
I’m really good at
Board games
Logic puzzles
Playing games

Not being able to shut up when drinking
The first things people usually notice about me
It depends.

If you're working at a liquor store then it's that some guy who looks underage is trying to buy alcohol.

Otherwise, probably that I'm really skinny?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love fantasy novels, Raymond Feist used to be my favourite but now I like Steven Erikson and George RR Martin more. I like Tolkien but am a bit over him at the moment. Catch-22 and 1984 were also good.

I can't stand Chuck Palahniuk as a writer. Brett Easton Ellis is good but reading his books depresses me beyond words.

Pop-sci books are fun too. I've only really read ones by Richard Dawkins so I probably need to start reading from a few different authors.

I saw Little Miss Sunshine recently, and I don't know what it was about the ending but I couldn't stop laughing for 10 minutes. I laughed so much that I started hyperventilating and that just made me laugh more. It took me a while to get back to normal, but definitely the best laugh I've had in a while.

I love independent movies, and movies that make you think, or just really well told stories.

I want to see a movie that stars the holy trinity of Bill Murray, Phillip Seymour Hoffman and Steve Buscemi.

I tend to get obsessed with one band at a time, currently it's Why? and their Alopecia album.

Previous obsessions: The New Pornographers, Broken Social Scene, Fugazi, Modest Mouse, Interpol, Xploding Plastix, Radiohead, Jose Gonzalez.

The National is pretty awesome as well.

I'm going to list boardgames here as well because I've started playing them recently
Ra, Settlers of Catan, Ticket To Ride, Carcassonne, Zooloretto, Red Dragon Inn.
Six things I could never do without
  • Movies
  • Books
  • Internet
  • Beach
  • My best buds James and Anna
I can really do without the first 4 as long as I have something else to do.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Religion and science related things.

Board games. Where I'm going to travel and how it's going to be meeting so many different people.

Typical nerd guy stuff, video games, sex, what happened during my day and so on.
On a typical Friday night I am
On the internet or playing a game. Sometimes at a friends place.

Very rarely at the end of exams computing school nerd party drinking cheap beer and talking about video games with phd students while ignoring the surprisingly large number of women present.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I plan to take board games with me when I travel and attempt to get people to play them.
You should message me if
You want to tell me about interesting music or movies that I should listen to/watch.

If you believe that Steve Buscemi is your one and only god.

You can tell me awesome things to do/see in Europe/Vietnam.

You are from Nigeria and have a large sum of money you'd like to deposit in a trustworthy overseas bank account.

Also you're ok with the fact that I might just not reply, or that we could be having a perfectly good conversation and I'll just stop replying for no reason at some point!
