My self-summary
I'm a postdoc in the central MA area. I have a PhD in Biochemistry, and I'm currently learning Mass Spectrometry.

I'm a former competitive ballroom dancer, and have recently taken up Krav Maga and Kickboxing, both of which I absolutely love.

Staying active is important to me, as is being able to switch back and forth between stupid/random and intelligent conversation. Because who doesn't enjoy a little randomness in their life?
What I’m doing with my life
Most days I go to work (early, I like working 730-430), then head to my gym for kickboxing, krav, or both! After the gym I head home and watch TV for a while, and maybe read in bed until I fall asleep.

I'm in the middle of a 1-2 year postdoc right now, but looking to eventually move to the Boston area to work for a small to mid-sized pharmaceutical company.

I also enjoy riding my motorcycle on the weekends, but I'm not really a fan of riding alone so haven't been out much lately.
I’m really good at
Science. I've spent a lot of years studying it 😁.

I can sing along to almost any classic rock song, but don't ask me to name the song or the artist because I will definitely fail at that.

I'm also a really good critical thinker, and I like poking holes in arguments. Sorry in advance if I do that to you, it's a bit of a bad habit...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Ugh, too many to list... TV is one of my favorite ways to unwind, so there are far too many shows on my docket. I'll watch almost anything, but not a huge fan of horror or gore. I enjoy movies with people, but I'm not really the type to watch a movie by myself.

Music, anything but rap really. I grew up on classic rock, I love 90s alternative, and I find progressive metal great for focusing at work. I also enjoy country, but need to be more in the mood for that!

For books, I love fantasy and historical fiction. I'm a huge fan of world building, especially when done without being super expositional about it, and I'll always give a book a chance if recommended by a friend! I'm also a huge Harry Potter nerd. I've never met someone who has read them more than me. Go on, try me!

I'm not a particularly picky eater. I have a few random aversions, but honestly I'll try most things at least once!
The six things I could never do without
1) my smartphone
2) something to stimulate my brain
3) a non-work physical hobby
4) Netflix
5) a pet (currently 2 bunnies!)
6) blue-spectrum/cool light bulbs
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Problems I'm troubleshooting at work, whether or not I remembered to turn off the headlights on my car, if I *really* should start listening to the Harry Potter series again.

And why on earth the instruments at work behave better after a good night's sleep. You're a machine. You shouldn't need a nap.
On a typical Friday night I am
Usually relaxing after a 530 kickboxing class, sometimes dancing, sometimes with friends, often alone with Netflix.
