My self-summary
I'm an independent thinker. I've lived in Chicago, Berkeley, and Boulder for significant chunks of my life, but Austin suits me best. I really like my job(s). I own a car, but make myself bike whenever I can. I know a lot of impressively creative and interesting humans, but my best friends are my cat and my records. When I meet new people, I ask them to spell their full names for me. I read "The Economist" cover-to-cover every week. I dislike "hanging out" and prefer to do stuff.
What I’m doing with my life
I work as an assistant to a record label head (not as exotic it sounds). I go to see local bands, a lot. I bake snacks a lot. I follow football, basketball, and video game websites and podcasts. I cultivate a diverse record collection and sing along loudly to my favorite songs. I read magazines and (mostly nonfiction) books. I play several instruments and write songs. I sleep, sporadically. I play PC and XBox games in an on-again, off-again fashion. I watch the same handful of TV shows repeatedly on Netflix. I think.
I’m really good at
Writing songs, making food, remembering details, reaching things on high shelves, keeping my room clean, keeping my word, showing up for bands' tour kickoff or record release shows, alphabetizing, being on time, having my own opinion, being scrupulously honest often to my own detriment.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm tall. I have a red beard. I have a very deep and idiosyncratic speaking voice.

Songwriting, the NBA and NFL, local music, time management.
On a typical Friday night I am
Working, then going to a rock show.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
"There is no life on this planet! Jehovah-One replaced all life with machinery five centuries ago. The so-called industrial revolution was just another hoax and we all fell for it, 'cause we were all programmed to. Even I fell for it. I believe in the steam engine, even though I don't believe in anything."

Lyrics from the King Missile song "Ed." That's what jumped into my mind at the moment.
You should message me if
You support local music, food, and culture.

You would NOT describe yourself as "laid-back" or "easy-going." I prefer high-strung and passionate.
