My self-summary
My name is not Deb, it says West Side B.
(Not Westsi Deb). I just needed to set that straight.

I don't usually respond to "hi"...it puts the burden of starting the conversation on me. Start a conversation. I want to know where your head is, what's sparking the interest and telling me who you are. Tell me somethin' GOOD. I will do the same. This is the first part of dating: tell each other stuff.

First generation Chicago north sider, lived in apartments, got bussed to magnet schools. Heart that is true and bleeds redder than I would like.
I'm the friend that you call when the shit hits the fan or when you see something absurd on the street and need to laugh about it with someone or a reality check is needed or you want a drinking buddy or have an extra ticket to that thing or you need a book recommendation or your prom date stood you up.
I have never had a PB&J.
I don't eat eggs.
I am drawn the the gray area not the dark side. I've been to that side and chose not to stay.

I like an eloquent, imaginative man. If you can build things or work with your hands, that's a super plus. I'm a little gritty and pretty open minded and it's probably only going to work out if you are too. Please have a sense of humor... I have a quick wit, you are going one to need to keep up.

I have a decent emotional vocabulary and we might need to talk about feelings at some point so have some tools in the emotional crayon box Sir.
What I’m doing with my life
I am a self employed interior designer. I mostly work in renovation/construction, but I do all kinds of projects.

Trying to fit into those jeans from 7 years ago that I refuse to throw away.

I want to travel more. I want to see more obscure art things here in town.
I’m really good at
Making mistakes, learning from them, making them again.
Dirty talk.
Making strong coffee.
Picking paint colors.
Space planning
Talking you down from a ledge
Writing words down in an order I made up myself.
The first things people usually notice about me
My heart. My words. My eyes. My rack. Not necessarily in that order.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Food is comfort. I love to cook for a good man. Fuckin hot. I love restaurants. I love drinks. Lets eat and drink stuff.

Music is everything. i love it all.

I read a lot of fiction and watch a lot of documentaries.

I collect flea market prints and objects... paint by numbers, stuff with birds, botanicals, pressed leaves, bugs, stuff made with feathers, paintings of horses, naked people, trees, children. Sad things... portraits. ink, pencil and charcoal drawings. Gold frames.

Just bought a taxidermied four point buck head.

If I had a lot of money, I'd spend some of it on art.

One day I will have a room in my house with Stampeding Horses wallpaper by Florence Broadhurst.
The six things I could never do without
my friends (I prolly shouldn't call them things)
vowels and consonants
hysterical laughter
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Housework. Paperwork. Lungs. Heart. Kidneys. Liver. Labia. Teeth. Bills. Cat Box. Check Engine Light. The Better Angels of my Nature.
On a typical Friday night I am
jivin' around.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
"Livin' on the the road, my friend
Was gonna keep you free and clean
Now you wear your skin like iron
Your breath's as hard as kerosine
You weren't your mama's only boy
But her favorite one it seems
She began to cry when you said goodbye
And sank into your dreams."
-Townes Van Zandt

Post coitum omne animalium triste est.

I got fat this winter. Ugh.
You should message me if
you have a story to tell and can tell it.

you are a contender.

"We made somethin outta nuthin
From a scratch and a hope
Two old guitars, like a shovel and a rope"
