My self-summary
A summary of self? Isn't that a lot to ask for? Wouldn't it be better if someone else could fill this out for you? Especially someone who doesn't like you? At least the usual cliches ("caring," "engaging," "passionate") would not have to be resorted to. Let's see...I'm generally content with my life--where it's been and where it's going to, have great friends, and don't use emoticons to express myself...even ironically.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a writer. I write librettos for opera and lyrics for musical theatre. I have 5 premieres in 2011. I want more.
I’m really good at
Oddly, I can't get my head out of the gutter with this question. I'll get back to it.
The first things people usually notice about me
It depends on the angle. From the front, the eyes. From the back, not the eyes.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
There's so much. I'll just throw out names and sound really pretentious: britten, wharton, visconti, dawn powell, jane kenyon, prokofiev, radio dept, stravinsky, faure, part, barber, bernstein, the animal collective, anthony and the johnsons, bacon (the artist and the food), freud (the artist and the psychiatrist), dix (put salacious pun here), sondheim (of course), thom gunn...
The six things I could never do without
see list above and choose six things.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
writing. sex. not being distracted from writing by sex.
On a typical Friday night I am
there is no typical friday night for me. nor any other day of the week.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
admitting something private in a public forum. good one. sounds like an opportunity for rank cuteness.
