My self-summary
I should start by saying that right now my free time is fairly limited at best, due mainly to work and I generally have to schedule things with some notice. Also I am in a long term open/poly relationship.

The frivolous details are that I'm a machinist and designer (though lately I've been working as a high purity pipefitter and probably will for quite a while), I'm a proficient blacksmith, photographer and shibari/kinbaku practitioner. I like things where the technical and artistic meet. I enjoy obsessing over minuscule details and components, drafting pencils, vacuum tubes, tri-x, micrometers, grain size, carbon content, etcetera.
What I’m doing with my life
For a living I'm installing high purity acid lines in a clean room. For the last year I have been working mostly six day weeks. When not at work I spend a lot of time working on art work or reading. Most of my artwork lately has been either photography, sewing or metalwork. On the rare occasions time allows I perform or lecture on shibari.
I’m really good at
I am a reasonable photographer and excellent printer (wet darkroom).

I have made a few sets of swords that are now in museums.

I am also reasonably good at deconstructing shibari and kinbaku structures and cross referencing them with the TCM/CCM model of the body.

Fixing nagging problems by abstract but often very apparent means.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm more reserved then most people would expect.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books about engineering, photography, analog electronics, chemistry, Chinese medicine or cooking. I also like a number of books by William Gibson, J. G. Ballard, Philip K. Dick (but beyond them I don't read much scifi) and a few comic books/graphic novels by Will Eisner, Garth Ennis, Frank Miller, the Hernandez Brothers. I also like/read/look at a lot of photography books and monographs.

I read about 45-60 books a year and about 4 of them are fiction. I've also been reading more comic books of late.

Industrial / Classical / Neoclassical / Goth / Punk / Jazz
Wumpscut, Throbbing Gristle, Switchblade Symphony, NON, Voltaire, Portishead, Bjork, Fad Gadget, The Cure, The Dead Boys, Virgin Prunes, Man is the Bastard, D.I., Agnostic Front Conflict, Suicidal Tenancies, Sisters of Mercy, Nine inch Nails, Big Black, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Rasputina, Debussy, Hypnoskull, Converter, Mentello and the Fixer, Stravinsky, Bach, Devo
Six things I could never do without
Coffee, books, my dark room, my soldering iron, an occasional night off, my three legged cat. I can apparently live without more than 3 hours of sleep a night.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My next project.
On a typical Friday night I am
Lately getting ready to work on Saturday morning. Otherwise I've been going to the Filmbar or occasionally something social.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
That I will admit to things that are very private if they are relevant or I am asked politely.
You should message me if
You enjoy communicating in more than 160 character blocks, you are accepting of poly relationships. And you possibly want to discuss photography, shibari or industrial design. Something along those lines.
