My self-summary
Retired a couple years ago and love it.

I am bright, pretty happy, and open. I'd like to meet someone like that to share my life with. And I prefer tall and slender, like me.
What I’m doing with my life
For awhile after retiring, I took some classes at Santa Monica College in the arts, music, some yoga. But they're not really designed for retirees. So eventually I stopped. I take private piano lessons off and on, to help me learn to play the blues. I love the creative process, belong to a ceramics studio sometimes, have even tried my hand at glass blowing. I don't have enough space to store the product of arts and crafts now though.

I play paddle tennis on the weekends and during the week and run with the Hash House Harriers [the Hash], 'a drinking club with a running problem'.

I'm pretty well traveled and I like to have dinner parties.

Admittedly, I'm not perfect. For one thing, I don't understand women. For another, no, that's about it.
I’m really good at
I've been told I'm a good kisser. I'm also good at figuring things out sometimes.
The first things people usually notice about me
No one's ever told me and I've never asked. My magnetic personality?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books - a few favs are
The Education of Hyman Kaplan by Leo Rosten; The Source by Michener; Cannery Row - Steinbeck; Cat's Cradle - Vonnegut; A Confedrate General from Big Sur - Richard Brautigan; Let the Northern Lights be your Guide, I forget who; Notes from a Small Island by Bill Bryson; Kevalier and Clay, Michael Chabon; Anna Karenina, Tolstoy; The Four Hour Body. Non-fiction. Right now I'm reading Alaska, because I'm set to cruise there August.

Music -Jazz, Rock, Blues, Classical.

Not a fan of horror but I like all the other genres I can think of. I often like movies that other people don't, and don't care for the ones that are hot, like Pirate Radio (liked) and Up in the Air (meh).

Food - pretty much all kinds. Shared meals. I like cooking.
Six things I could never do without
Friends, good food, fun, thinking, my health, the internet, loafing, my wicked good math skills.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
On a typical Friday night I am
watching t.v., netsurfing, playing the piano or the guitar.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I sometimes get weepy-eyed watching sappy movies.
You should message me if
you want to or if I message you first.
