My self-summary
HEY! How's it goin'? I'm Noreen. Nice to meet ya! =]

Some things about me:
I love music more than most things. I collect it (records, mp3s and the two inbetween + plus trivia), play it (guitar, singing, un poco piano, and uke), write it, and listen to it constantly. It keeps me running right. I'm pretty sure that if I didn't have to eat, I probably wouldn't very often, but if music were food, I'd be dangerously obese. So there's that..

I love cooking and baking ALL THE TIME. I'm always making something. For example, right now I've got sourdough sponge fermenting in the kitchen to bake bread, and I'm planning on making chocolate Guinness and Bailey's ice cream tomorrow, too. Yesterday, I made homebrew beer-battered fish 'n' chips and onion rings. Also, chocolate peanut butter chip cookies. (More about food stuffs in the "What I'm doing with my life.. " section)

I love keeping busy, actively creative, and having awesome super happy funtimes all the times. I'm endlessly curious and cautiously impulsive. I have ADD, but mostly forgetfully and mile-a-minutely but not obnoxiously so. I'm actually a little bit shy/reserved sometimes but mostly around new people.

I love the outdoors. Camping, hiking, ROCK CLIMBING (<3), going to the beach, road trips.. I can't get enough of it!

I pastel and write some times. I've been trying to make an awesome kite that flies well. I dabble in food photography.

I've been somewhat of a bookworm ever since I learned to read.

I love playing strategy board games like Settlers of Catan, Risk, Dominion, Carcassone, and those types of things. I am also good at them and will gladly kick your ass some time if you'd like. No one will play me at Words with Friends anymore, either, because I almost always win.. I also like to play video games, and am actually currently doing videostreams with a friend on livestream.com of us playing different games together Tuesday and some Friday nights.

In general, I'm a goofy, silly, imaginative, happy-go-lucky, fun-loving kind of girl who always strives for awesome love and happy good times. I'm pretty laid back. Almost never ever get angry about anything. I generally look on the bright side of things.
What I’m doing with my life
I work night shifts in front of bars in Sebastopol cooking crepes on a crepe truck. Some of my lovely regular customers have recently dubbed me "Crepe Goddess of the Night". I have about the chillest deadhead stoner ex-deejay boss ever, and I basically love my job! Like, seriously, I might have to start my own truck some day.

I'm working on the last 4 units of specialty baking courses I need to obtain my baking certificate from the SRJC Culinary Arts Baking & Pastry Program. Culinary school is one of the best things I've ever done. While I love learning about all kinds of things all the time, I'd never been thrilled about going to school, until I switched my focus to culinary arts. It's all kinds of fun and inspiring, the students and instructors are great -like family! I'm gonna miss it.

I'm working on moving to San Francisco, San Diego, Santa Cruz, or maybe Portland after I finish school in May. Most likely San Francisco. We'll see.

Eventually, some day, I think I'd like to open a community-driven restaurant/art center that is a great place to hang out and eat and maybe have classes or share knowledge about various arts (music, visual, culinary, whatever..) Or maybe I'll just have a food truck. Or maybe I'll teach in a culinary school.. Maybe I'll get tired of being in the food business and doing something different, entirely! Who knows? I'm endlessly curious! I'm sure I'll never run out of things I want to do.
I’m really good at
Baking, cooking, climbing, winning awesome strategy board games, playing/singing songs on my guitar (or so I've been told), listening, spelling, over-thinking, knowing random shit about music, hugging, remembering things that happened eons ago... *shrug* I don't know. You tell me. =)
The first things people usually notice about me
Haha, that's kind of a funny thing to ask, don'tchathink? I mean, I would guess people notice that I'm tall, kinda skinny, smile a lot, and maybe that I'm a little reserved at first. I'm also told I look younger than I am.. Again, you tell me!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Favorite books - The Hitchhiker's Guide to The Galaxy series, The Chronicles of Narnia, and The Ender's Game series. I love reading, though, so there are many more books I like that I'm not listing.

Favorite movies - Ummm, I'm really not good at these lists, but I'll try: Almost Famous, Amelie, Back to The Future, Princess Bride, My Neighbor Totoro, Labyrinth, Alice in Wonderland, High Fidelity, a bunch of others I'm sure I'm forgetting..

Music - First off, I can't do this.
Secondly, for you, I'll try. Here are who I believe to be my top 10 favorite artists at the moment: Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Led Zeppelin, Joan Baez, The Beatles, Joni Mitchell, Elton John, Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, Jefferson Airplane/Starship.
Thirdly, should we get to know each other, I'll be sure to brainrape you with all kinds of stuff I like anyway. As my friends will tell you, it's just a part of knowing me. ;)
Fourthly, if that's not enough, here are my Pandora and Last.fm pages. Also, I just started using Spotify. My GrooveShark username is xrockangelx. I'm most frequently using that and Spotify these days, but between the three you can kinda piece my musical preferences together alright. Basically, though, I'll listen to anything that fits through my earholes and like most of it.
-Oh! But thirdly: If you don't like Motown, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, or reggae this isn't going to work out.

Food - Grilled salmon or trout. Taqueria food. Creamy fettuccine al pesto. Tangerines. Raspberries. Peaches. Pizza with garlic, basil, feta, fresh tomatoes, and artichokes. Chicken Caesar salad. Beer, wine, Kahlua, Bailey's, whiskey..

Video Games - All of the Fable games, Mario Kart Wii, Guitar Hero II, Rock Band, Katamari Damacy, the occasional round of DDR, aaand currently I'm working my way through all the Legend of Zelda games I can get my hands on

TV - I don't like to watch much of it, but when I do.. How I Met Your Mother, 30 Rock, Futurama, Seinfeld, Scrubs, Portlandia, The Office, Whitest Kids U Know, That '70s Show reruns... and miscellaneous movies.
Six things I could never do without
Music, food, love, sunshine, nature, and the freedom to roam
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I'm told I think way too much. I guess if I had to pick I'd say I think mostly about music, food, and people I love, but really I like to think about all kinds of things and spend a lot of time doing so. I find myself, also, daydreaming up all sorts of random OMGIHAVETODOTHAT ideas about interesting quirky stuff I figure maybe no one's tried before. I'm an idea girl, and my brain seems to be hardwired to equate weird/silly novelty with awesomeness.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging out with friends around town or in San Francisco. Maybe cooking, baking, playing music, rock climbing, board games.. Sometimes by Friday I just want to chill at home with a beer and some good music to unwind from all the week's school and work. I suppose this is a good time to mention that I'm really not all that into the bars and clubs scene. I like drinking moderately, I do enjoy parties, and I go to bars when friends' bands are playing at them or whatever. Otherwise, it's not really my thing, though. I'd much rather hang out with some beers or MJ and do something interesting and maybe productive.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'd say I'm a very open kind of person, so I'm willing to to talk about most things. You can ask away -but ask wisely. Just because I might answer, doesn't mean I won't kiiiinda think you're icky if you ask too many of, you know, THOSE kinds of questions too soon. ;)
You should message me if
You wanna have silly or otherwise conversations and fun.. Maybe even eventually hang out and do that in person, too! ..Maybe even as one of those "date" things I keep hearing about.. OooOOoooh.. hehehe! ;)
