My self-summary
A comedy nerd with a penchant for 90's hip-hop and filmmaking. One day I'll figure out a way of combining all three to create a masterpiece of modern cinema.

If I could have the ideal life, it would be to travel the world, trying all the local cuisines and writing about them. Clearly I aspire to be like Anthony Bourdain.
What I’m doing with my life
I recently lived in Japan teaching English to kids of all ages, who frequently mistook me for a 40-year-old Chinese man (don’t try to make sense of it). I moved back to England to focus on what I really wanted to do though, which is writing in some capacity.

Currently I’m the marketing manager of a digital advertising agency. It means I now get to write daily, use social media as part of my job, and go to events showcasing virtual reality headsets. Suffice it to say, I am very much enjoying what I do.

In my free time I've been taking improv comedy classes, which have been ridiculously fun. I’m enjoying them so much that I’m even using my summer holiday to take some extra classes in New York.
I’m really good at
Remembering pretty much all the lyrics to a song after only hearing it once. I have my love of hip-hop to thank for that!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I've been gravitating toward short story collections when picking books to read lately. However, these are the books I've enjoyed most in recent years - Slaughterhouse-Five, Lolita, Norwegian Wood, Between the World and Me, Drown.

Movies: As someone who went to film school, everyone expects me to have a favourite. Of course, it's impossible for me to pick! These are the ones I rewatch most - The Graduate, Lost In Translation, Back to the Future, Do the Right Thing, Almost Famous, Pan's Labyrinth, Groundhog Day.

Television: Community, Parks and Recreation, Arrested Development, The Wire, Broad City, Saturday Night Live, Adventure Time, 30 Rock, Master of None.

Music: Prince, The Black Keys, Childish Gambino, Sam Cooke, Bob Dylan, Fleetwood Mac, The Roots, A Tribe Called Quest.
The six things I could never do without
1. Notebook
2. Passport
3. Netflix
4. Laptop
5. Camera
6. Books
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What the best route would be for travelling across all 50 states in America.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
A friend and I once auditioned for the X-Factor as a joke and were so bad that they considered putting us through.
You should message me if
You have a similar taste to mine. You like to travel and see the world. You can tell me a groan worthy pun style joke because they're my favourite.
