My self-summary
In short, I'm a rather laid-back, nerdy sort of guy who has a passion for stories of all kinds (both reading and writing them), watching the occasional movie, games of all sorts, and making stuff. I'm also a Georgia native, apparently one of the few in Atlanta if this site is to be believed.

Career-wise, "I am a helluva engineer," with all of what that entails. More specifically, I work in sensors and robots.

Reading is something I do a lot of; my bookshelf is a mishmash of technical texts, novels, and comic collections.

I enjoy a good pint and good whiskey, and often do so with friends. The music I like often has a lot of piano and guitar.

I have a goofy sense of humor. My guilty pleasure is terrible documentaries about stuff like UFOs, the paranormal, and cryptozoology.

If you find any of that interesting, we just might get along fine.
What I’m doing with my life
Doing the day job, researching in the defense and robotics industries. Also, I'm always trying to learn new things.
I’m really good at
I'm really good at spending too much time filling stuff like this out.

Although, I think my friends would consider me a good listener, but don't quote me on that.
The first things people usually notice about me
It's usually the height. We'll go with the height.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I read mostly science fiction, fantasy, and some horror. Also, I like to read graphic novels/comics and nonfiction. Obviously, I like to read.

My favorite movie is Ghostbusters. I also am quite fond of the Fifth Element, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and the recent Marvel superhero movies. The Dude abides.

Examples of the kind of music I like include REM, They Might Be Giants, and Mumford & Sons. I also seriously love me some Irish/Celtic music.

And I'll deftly dodge the food question by saying that I'll eat almost anything. Although it's not quite a food, per se, I also enjoy fine beers, scotch, and whiskey (in moderation).
Six things I could never do without
This question, I believe, this profile can do without.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I'm never not thinking. Except when I end up breaking something or tripping and falling. And even then I'm likely thinking "oh crap, why me, whyyyyy".
On a typical Friday night I am
On Fridays, I'm usually gaming with my friends. Or reading, or watching TV. Occasionally I'll go out and be social. Nothing terribly out of the ordinary.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have a lot of guilty pleasure music; let's just leave it at that.
You should message me if
You should message me if you like things. And perhaps stuff. I also like stuff.
