My self-summary
My top three influences are Glenn Greenwald, Amy Poehler, and Chamillionaire.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm a mercenary at law. That's a funny way of saying I'm a private criminal defense attorney. I own and run my own firm.
I’m really good at
Listening, making curry, making out, karaoke, eavesdropping in restaurants.

A good date may involve all of the above.
The first things people usually notice about me
Great hair.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I pretend that I read more than I do. Some favorite books: The Tin Drum, Johnathan Strange and Mr. Norrell, Dune, Cryptonomicon, Neuromancer, The Sportswriter, Independence Day, Wonder Boys, Pale Fire, and Freedom. I rarely read books more than once.

Five Easy Pieces is my favorite movie ever. I like early Scorcese: Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore and Mean Streets. I like movies and TV shows about crime and the mob: Serpico, Justified, and Hannibal. I like Westerns, too: The Ballad of Cable Hogue, Once Upon a Time in the West. Let's talk about the subversive fun of Starship Troopers. Time Bandits and Gates of Heaven make me ecstatic every time I watch them. Movies about food excite me: Big Night, The Cook, The Thief, His Wife, and Her Lover and Ratatouille.

Music-wise, I love bleeps and bloops, exquisitely-crafted pop, whiplash-inducing hooks, and big beats. I like silky chaunteuses like Ambrosia Parsley and Edith Piaf, dreamy pop like Mazzy Star and Dum Dum Girls, bubbly pop vocalists like Gwen Stefani and Kylie Minogue, and electropop divas like Tracy Thorn, Goldfrapp, Martina Topley-Bird, and Ladytron. If you like Prince, chances are we'll have something to talk about. Recently I've been digging Iggy Azalea and Charli XCX.

As for food, I like soups, stews and sauces. Richness and decadence. Fish of all kinds. Anything with jalapenos. Mustard. Vermont Curry. Anything I haven't tried before.
Six things I could never do without
Family, a pen, inspiration, music, spice, carrots.

Ask me about why I never leave the house without a pen. It's a good story.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Work. Sex. People. Nanomachines.
On a typical Friday night I am
Karaoke-ing, carousing, playing video games, sleeping, or possibly working.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I want to be married.
You should message me if
You are taller than me. Don't be self-conscious about it. Tall women are hot.

You draw both inspiration and frustration from our flawed world.

You like reading the Modern Love column in the Sunday New York Times.

You love Tucson. At a minimum, you aren't complaining every other second about how much you hate it, how much more you like Seattle or San Francisco or New York or Portland or Austin, and how you just can't wait to move out of here.

I work constantly. So if I don't message you back within a day or two, hang in there.
