My self-summary
I like long walks on the beach, watching the sunset, staring at the stars, and poking dead things with a stick. I have an odd sense of humor. All the above are true.

I'm honest, open, a gentleman(so I have been told). I also have a dark side. There were no cookies there.

I am not looking for a lifelong partner. I would like to meet new friends and people to date. I've been burned too many times to be open for commitment right now. While a slim chance, maybe the right person could change that.

I don't expect much from this website and it has lived up to my expectations.

If it's your thing, on Myers-Briggs I am ENFP/ESFP. I fall at or on 50% between intuitive and sensing.

I am well-traveled. I have lived in a place where the sun set for 4 months. I have walked through every timezone on the planet just by walking in a large circle. (Think about it. There are only two places on the planet you can do this.) I have stood on top of glaciers and walked miles through burning sands. I have hiked barefoot through the snow in a mountain pass. I have swam through an underground stream where the ceiling glowed. I have stood on a beach in winter with my bare feet in the sand warmed by a natural hot spring. I have not killed a grizzly with my bare hands nor would I want to try.

I have the stories of a young adventurer but now I prefer to stay close to home. I do enjoy taking a long drive through the countryside in my Jeep with the top off, the wind rushing, and loud music to keep me company. And taking an occasional camping trip.

I'm nerdy, geeky, whatever you want to call it.

I am a sensualist. I am a very tactile-oriented person. Massage, caresses, hot/cold, anything that can generate interesting or pleasant sensations.

I am gentle. I am kinky. I am dominant. (in bed)

What I’m doing with my life
I work from home for a bleeding-edge technology company. I've been accused of being married to my job.

Presently I'm trying to figure out how to work less and play more. I would prefer to skip the work and just get a paycheck. But I wasn't born into the right family, I don't have the right connections, nor do I have enough blackmail material against a major evil corporation to pull it off.

I'm working on getting several tattoos finished.

I am not a religious person. Instead I have built a life philosophy that I live by. I am constantly tuning it. I have pulled parts from the Roman Stoics, Taoists, Modern Pagans, Modern Physics, and even Dr. Who and Firely. One can find gems of wisdom everywhere if one looks for them. My life philosophy is dynamic. Here are a few core rules I live by:

- Do as you will as long as you attempt no harm.
- Contemplate the worst but do not dwell on it. Instead, let the knowledge of loss allow you to appreciate what you have.
- Enjoy what life has to offer. Seek tranquility. Find the balance.
I’m really good at
using my hands.

Well, that way also, but working on projects: building things out of wood, working on my Jeep, weaving chain-maille.
The first things people usually notice about me
is I'm wearing a kilt.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
This is a very hard section to fill out as my tastes are very eclectic when it comes to entertainment. If it has science-fiction or fantasy in it and is written well then chances are I have seen it or read it or would like to do so. I find old horror movies entertaining, especially when they are along the lines of the original Evil Dead and Army of Darkness. For more modern I like Cabin in the Woods. I occasionally like romantic comedies like 10 Things I Hate About You. My favorite novels are the Honor Harrington series. While I despise Twilight, I did love The Host.

I like most anime. Ghost in the Shell, Elfen Leid, and Twelve Kingdoms just to new a few of my favorites.

My musical tastes cover decades of music but exclude most country, rap and hip-hop. It includes a lot of classic rock, heavy metal, pop music, grunge, techno, etc.

I enjoy dessert wines.
The six things I could never do without
I have been to the abyss and back. - Seriously.

I've had everything. And I've had nothing.

Excluding Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, I can only come up with one thing I could never do without:

The love and support from my friends.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Everything. Mostly about how things work.

I have an analytic mind but I am easily distra.... ooooh, a Shiny Squirrel!

A friend told me I have a cat brain. Easily distracted, but when I lock on an idea I play with it for hours until it's no longer moving. Then I come back and start tossing it about in the air and chasing it again.
On a typical Friday night I am
Working until someone can entice me out of my home office to break free from the grasp of my computers.

Once free of my job...on any night:

I play pool, join friends for a night of card games, board games, just watching a movie on the big screen TV, or hanging out in the hot tub. We have a "no clothes allowed" rule for our hot tub.

I am agoraphobic in large crowds of strangers but I do well in moderate to small groups of friends. You won't find me at dance clubs or concerts.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
is probably something the NSA already knows about.
You should message me if
If you find me interesting and would like to risk learning more by meeting me. All this stuff above? Those are just words. Would you care to meet the person behind them?
