My self-summary
Baker, musician, cocktail nerd, auto didact, lover and wrangler of dogs, queer lady.

Meeting new people in new situations, working on myself while working on my relationships (and all that may mean), fighting for the love of the gender non-binary, non-monogamy, intersectionality and general radical love.

I have a boyfriend and we have a home full of food experiments, instruments, a decent home bar and an adorable dog named cheddar. This means that if you are not interested in or capable of dating a person who has a primary then it just won't work.
What I’m doing with my life
On a hiatus from animal rescue career to sling coffee and cocktails in Red Hook.

Trying to plan fundraisers for animal rescue, any suggestions?

Riding my bike, cocktail geekery, embroidering naked women, smutty drawings and feminist slogans on whatever clothing is lying around, reading too many books at any given time while rushing to finish them so I can find someone to share it with, practicing guitar and never playing in front of anyone, fermenting foods and figuring out how to do it better.
I’m really good at
Working with animals.

Stress reading. Seriously, when I'm stressed I'll go through a book a day.
The first things people usually notice about me
Good lord, who knows?
If I had to guess, and depending on the time of year, tattoos, freckles or the fact that I started checking out their dog way before I noticed them.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
The Third Plate, 100 years of solitude, The Ethical Slut, The Sandman series, Snow Crash, Where the Sidewalk Ends, Good Omens, any Oliver Sacks, Physics of the Impossible, The Amazing Adventures of Cavalier and Klay, Sherry, Kraken, Lolita, Dune, Hero With A Thousand Faces, Blood Meridian, Windup Bird Chronicles, Bone, any books on folklore or mythology and I read books on geology for fun, don't judge, geology is awesome.

Tom Waits, Johnny Cash, Neutral Milk Hotel, Bob Dylan, Lou Reed, Thee Oh Sees, Velvet Underground, FIDLR, Shannon and the Clams, Screaming Females, Nobunny, The Cramps, Gooch Palms, Dave Von Ronk, Townes Van Zandt, Blind Willi Johnson, Sam Cooke, Sarah Vaughn, Bessie Smith, Billie Holliday, Vaughan Williams, Debussy, Shostakovich, Bach, Ravel.

I terribly miss the mexican food back home.
I'm big on baking but don't enjoy eating baked goods.
I much prefer honeydew to cantaloupe.
Six things I could never do without
Music (playing it, not just listening)
Movement (sex, biking, dancing, etc)
Learning (from books or people)
Food (introduce me to something new, please)
Lived experiences (put down yer damn phone)
Family (blood or chosen)
I spend a lot of time thinking about

Body mods.

Whether or not the fact that I'm unwilling to give up meat despite my work with animals is morally reprehensible.

The gender binary, kink, desire vs reality, polyamory/consensual nonmonogamy/open relationships, intersectionality, cocktails.
On a typical Friday night I am
I'm just as likely to be getting stoned with my man watching a good movie as I am to be going to whatever raucous show seems appealing that week.

Plus weekends are for suckers.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am fairly convinced that this profile is not in any way a good representation of who I am.
You should message me if
Want to chat about Joseph Campbell.

Want to chat while baking a pie and/or drinking some whiskey.

Want to geek out about geeky shit. Listening to people discuss things they are passionate about makes me happy.

'I like aggressive women with a nerdy vibe.' There's a lot of truth in that....
