My self-summary
By day, I work with computer software, but please feel free to toss all those stereotypical computer nerd tropes out the window. I’m motivated by beauty, and I do my best to cultivate it as much as possible. Art photography and portraiture are passions of mine, and I absolutely love music – both listening to and making. I appreciate the craftsmanship in the cut of a good dress and the line of a classic high heel. A glass of red wine speaks volumes.

I’m an explorer – I like to delve into ideas and examine the world around me. Whether it’s hiking through the wilderness, people-watching (and dancing the night away) in clubs, or going out on a low-light late night photo excursion, I keep my eyes open and am always trying to see my environment in a new way.

I'm happily married, and ethically non-monogamous. Perhaps the best term is "monogamish." (Thanks for that one, Dan Savage.) In other words, I'm still open to romantic adventures and fun times with the right persons. Also, I have an 8-year-old son who rocks my world. I’m at a really great place in my life.
I’m really good at
All of the photos in my profile are self-portraits; as I said, I really enjoy photography and I’ve worked to hone my craft. I love taking portraits (hint hint).

I love music. I sing, play keyboards and bass, and have just entered into a very mutually fulfilling affair with a cherry red G&L Legacy Deluxe.

Finding light in the dark corners is something I enjoy very much.
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably my hair. It’s almost always some shade of very unnatural red. My eyes, too; while not unnaturally red, they are very striking.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Movies: Film noir is a love of mine – the dramatic lighting, the well-dressed femme fatales, the gritty, nuanced atmosphere… what’s not to love? This includes everything from the classics (Maltese Falcon and Double Indemnity) to neo-noir (Blade Runner). My favorite director is Alfred Hitchcock, but I’m also a huge fan of Stanley Kubrick and David Lynch. Really, though, it’s not always all that dark; I enjoy all kinds of films!

TV: I don’t watch a lot of TV, but The Daily Show, Colbert Report, and Real Time With Bill Maher are in heavy rotation. As with film, my tastes veer towards the atmospheric and dramatic – X-Files, West Wing, Twin Peaks, and Mad Men.

Radio: Over the last few years I've really gotten into some NPR shows like This American Life and Radiolab.

I love all kinds of music--yes, even the occasional country and hip-hop--though admittedly the majority of my music collection is some form of rock or pop. I enjoy classic rock, grew up on 80s music, and have a large place in my heart (and ears) for new wave and synthpop. I adore the latest Daft Punk album, and I have a pretty decent crush on M83, Phoenix, Goldfrapp, Chvrches, etc. But my all-time favorite artist - now and forever - is David Bowie!
On a typical Friday night I am
No Friday night is typical, but when I’m not spending a night in with my family, I can sometimes be found out on the town - dancing, spending time with friends, taking photos, and enjoying the night air.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I own more than a few pairs of high-heeled shoes. And I know how to use them!
You should message me if
You never quite got over your adolescent feelings of being a freak and a weirdo. Instead, you came to embrace those feelings, laugh about them, and celebrate them.

You have a not-so-secret crush on Andreja Pejic.

You enjoy a strong cocktail and fabulous conversation.

... Or you think I seem interesting.
