My self-summary
EDIT 25May16: It's been about two years since I updated my profile last and a lot has changed. I'm going to try and bring it up to date in the next few days.

I spend my free time with friends playing board games or watching DVDs. I like to be active, so I cycle in the summer and snowboard in the winter. I enjoy racket sports and rock climbing, but I can only do these activities if I can persuade someone else to join me.

I'm creative, and fascinated by the way things work. If you find me staring thoughtfully at something I'm probably trying to figure out how it was made.

I'm honest. To the point where I sometimes offend people.

I'm easy going, I'll try anything once and I'm up for pretty much anything.
What I’m doing with my life
I worked shifts in a factory for a pharmaceutical company for over 5 years, before I realised my life was just passing me by. It was only meant to be a stop gap to earn some money while I figured out what I wanted to do as a career, but time got away from me.

I now study 'Model Design and Special Effects' at the University of Hertfordshire and love every minute of it. It's pretty intensive, we get given a brief to work to and a deadline, the rest is up to us. I like to challenge myself and learn new things and create quite complicated projects. So I spend most of my time in the studio working.
I hope to be making props for the film and television industry and I've already done some work experience on some upcoming films.

I work part time at a Thai restaurant in order to cover my mortgage and other bills and on a Wednesday night I help to run the university's Film Society.

EDIT: I have now taken a step backwards in order to spring forwards once again. So in a strange twist of fate I have taken a gap year from university to work back in my old job at the factory and save up for my final year at UH and the shaky beginnings of a life in freelance prop making.
I’m really good at

Anything that requires a dexterous pair of hands or a logical mind.
The first things people usually notice about me
That I'm really laid back.

Most people tend to think I'm a bit weird.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I'm trying to get back into reading and out of the habit of wasting time on my phone. I'm currently reading Stardust as it's one of my favourite films and I've heard good things about Neil Gaiman. Past favourites have been:
The Time Traveller's Wife, The Magician, The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy, Map Of Bones, The Drenai Tales, The Night Circus.

Movies: Hot Fuzz, Fight Club, The Fifth Element, Labyrinth, Legend, Mallrats, The Matrix, Pirates of the Carribean, The Princess Bride, Robin Hood Prince of Thieves, Serenity, Stardust, lots of Disney films, anything by Pixar, Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, V For Vendetta and loads, loads, more.

Music: I've got a pretty eclectic taste in music and listen to all kinds of random stuff, but past favourites are:
Alkaline Trio, Mumford & Sons, Alanis Morissette, Blink 182, Biffy Clyro, Guns N' Roses, Calvin Harris, Jimmy Eat World, Linkin Park, Papa Roach, Pixies, Tenacious D.

I don't watch much TV, but I'm up-to-date with and love Game of Thrones and Walking Dead, I'm now a little behind on Big Bang Theory and I got part way into Agents of Shield and haven't been back to it yet.

Food: I love food so much, sometimes I can be a little bit picky, but I eat just about anything except seafood. When I eat, I eat enough for 4!
I love Mexican food, Pizza, Indian food, Thai and just about any dessert. I love chocolate, and cake, and sweets. I'm quite hungry now...
The six things I could never do without
My friends,
My family,
My eyesight,
My hands,
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Everything and anything, I've always been a bit of a dreamer.

How things work, or their construction.
On a typical Friday night I am
Shift work means I only have one Friday out of three off, so I usually use it to catch up with friends or family.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have a tendency to cry like a baby during emotional films or books.

I've not done a lot of dating, so don't really know what I'm doing.
You should message me if
you think we'll get along.
