My self-summary
Music, software, teaching, enabling others to succeed, (life-long) learning, listening, struggling with perfectionism, trying to make a meaningful impact on the world, daydreaming about traveling, actually traveling, walking around the city for hours, drinking fancy craft beers, drinking definitely non-fancy Berliner Pilsners at a Späti, going to concerts/parties by myself, having long conversations about life, the universe and everything. Phew, that'll do for now.

(Ich spreche auch Deutsch, aber Englisch geht viel besser.)
What I’m doing with my life
Moving to Berlin for an amazing job in September 2015 turned out to be the best decision I ever made in terms of my career, but also meant that I got ripped out of my familiar cultural and social surroundings in Budapest, Hungary. Getting used to the language and the Berlin way of life was relatively easy, but I found myself missing genuine human connections, and those are hard to find when starting over in a foreign country. So that's why I'm here, trying to connect. I've been single for long enough, time to let someone in again. :)

Other than that, working at the intersection of technology and music, my two main passions.
Making music, and occasionally teaching others how to do it.
Occasionally working out to stay in shape (need to get back on the regular workout wagon).
Getting back into the habit of traveling, now that I got settled in here in Berlin.
I’m really good at
... listening to people.
... explaining things.
... making groanworthy puns.
... having profoundly deep and/or silly conversations with like-minded people.
The first things people usually notice about me
Grey hair and beard.
Other than that, you tell me!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I've tried to come up with the ultimate favorites, but that's just impossible. So what you can see below is a snapshot of what came to my mind the last time I updated this.

Music:
I don't restrict myself by genre, there is just so much great music out there! I'm a big fan of all kinds of electronic music: mostly drum & bass, a bit of ambient, IDM, some sub-genres of techno, etc. A few more popular favorites include: Moderat, Woodkid, Fever Ray, Massive Attack, Lana Del Rey, Nine Inch Nails, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Björk, Radiohead, ... I could go on, but you get the idea.

Books:
Typical nerdy books like The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, The Lord Of The Rings, cyberpunk novels like Snow Crash and Neuromancer. Also a few obscure Hungarian fantasy novels, but that's unlikely to win me any points here.

Movies:
21 Grams, Aliens, Pulp Fiction, Mulholland Drive, Trainspotting, Fight Club, ...

TV Shows:
Broad City, Six Feet Under, Dexter, Californication, Weeds, Skins.

Stand-up comedy:
Current favorites are Kyle Kinane, Marc Maron, Louis C.K., George Carlin, Tim Minchin, Ricky Gervais, Patton Oswalt, etc.

Food:
Mexican, Thai, Indian, Chinese, Japanese, Middle Eastern, etc. I can easily get by without eating meat for days, but can also appreciate a good burger. In other words, I don't mind if you don't eat meat as long as you don't mind that I occasionally do.
The six things I could never do without
- music
- friends
- travel
- learning & teaching
- intimacy
I spend a lot of time thinking about
... current and future projects (music or software).
... where to travel next.
... your typical self-reflective, soul-searching type of things.
On a typical Friday night I am
... with friends, at a pub/concert/party, at home working on my music or wasting time on the Internet.
... hopefully doing some version of this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aQtoM-QRUaM
You should message me if
... you're interested in making a genuine connection. We'll take it from there.
