My self-summary
Sociable introvert. Too weird to be normal, too normal to be weird.

Music is very important: listening, playing and discussing it is all great fun for me. I can easily discuss it to the point where most people have lost their initial interest and are looking for a graceful but swift way out of the conversation, but sometimes I get lucky and find a fellow music nerd.

Ich spreche auch Deutsch, aber Englisch geht viel besser. Based in Berlin since 2015, and not planning to leave anytime soon.
What I’m doing with my life
Music, technology, mentoring, life-long learning, active listening, struggling with perfectionism, trying to make a meaningful impact on the world, daydreaming about traveling, actually traveling, walking around the city for hours, drinking fancy craft beers, drinking definitely non-fancy Berliner Pilsners at a Späti, going to weird concerts/parties by myself or with friends, having long conversations about life, the universe and everything.

Oh, and I recently started taking singing lessons, just because I always wanted to.
I’m really good at
Listening to people, explaining things, making groanworthy puns, and having profoundly deep and/or silly conversations with like-minded people.
The first things people usually notice about me
Grey hair and beard.
Other than that, you tell me!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I've tried to come up with the ultimate favorites, but that's just impossible. So what you can see below is a snapshot of what came to my mind the last time I updated this.

I don't restrict myself by genre, there is just so much great music out there! Generally speaking I have a soft spot for hard and/or dark genres of music: drum & bass, dark ambient, IDM, techno, trip-hop (remember that?), metal, etc.
More popular favorites include: Chelsea Wolfe, Moderat, Fever Ray, Massive Attack, Lana Del Rey, Nine Inch Nails, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Björk, Radiohead, etc. You get the idea.

Mostly non-fiction, plus typical nerdy books like The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and The Lord Of The Rings, cyberpunk novels like Snow Crash and Neuromancer. Also a few obscure Hungarian fantasy novels, but that's unlikely to win me any points here.

21 Grams, Aliens, Pulp Fiction, Mulholland Drive, Trainspotting, Fight Club, ...

TV Shows:
I'm on a hiatus nowadays, so most of these are ancient. Broad City, Six Feet Under, Dexter, Californication, Weeds, Skins.

Stand-up comedy:
Current favorites are Kyle Kinane, Marc Maron, Louis C.K., George Carlin, Whitney Cummings, Sarah Silverman, Tim Minchin, Ricky Gervais, Patton Oswalt, etc.

I like spicy food, so bring on the hot sauce! Big fan of American, Mexican, Thai, Indian, Chinese, Middle Eastern, etc. I can easily get by without eating meat for days, but can also appreciate a good burger. In other words, I don't mind if you don't eat meat as long as you don't mind that I do.
Six things I could never do without
learning & teaching
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How to grow as a person and have a positive impact on things.
Current and future projects.
Where to travel next.
Your typical self-reflective, soul-searching type of things.
On a typical Friday night I am
Occasionally with friends at a pub/concert/party, or at home working on my music or wasting time on the Internet.
Potentially doing some version of this:
You should message me if
... you're interested in making a genuine connection. We'll take it from there.
Also, I tend to have a thing for intelligent women with a great sense of humour.
