In a new location, starting life over again.
Looking to quit smoking cigarettes, here, in the not-to-distant future... (It's a disgusting habit, that is WAY too expensive, & I'd MUCH rather be smoking/spending my money on some Sticky Green)
***Disclaimer: I'm not looking to impress anyone, or fit neatly into anyone's preconceived little 'box.' If people can't accept me for who I am, they are more than welcome to take a very long walk, off a rather short pier - to put it nicely. I do, however, offer the same level of acceptance/tolerance that I demand from others, & you will be hard-pressed to find a more loyal friend! Thank you, had this been a real emergency, the world would be over by now, hehe.****
My purpose on this site:
My main focus, right now, is looking for new friends: of any gender/sexuality (or even lack thereof) I'm very open & accepting of all types of people! Just would love to meet new people, & establish a social circle in this place oh so new to me!
With females, if we have chemistry, once we meet, I'm TOTALLY not opposed to it turning into something more - from casual to serious, monogamous or not, or any combo of the two or place in between.
But, primarily looking for friends, so if your female don't think that if you contact me, or I contact you, that I'm expecting anything more than friendship to come out of it - also, not that I'm opposed to meeting for purely physical reasons, if that's what you'd want/prefer, either.
I have a VERY wide variety of interests, from intellectual pursuits such as the Arts, Science, History, Literature, Philosophy, etc... to loving Nature, Hiking, Camping, & Extreme Sports (Rock Climbing, Rafting, Cliff/Bride Jumping, etc. - want desperately to try Parachuting & Base Jumping,) as well as all types of simple, or silly fun. Am perfectly happy being a homebody, playing card, board, & video games, having interesting conversations, watching TV & Movies, etc... Love to write, make abstract art, mosaics, blowing glass, & just about everything creative. Have a passion for exploration and adventure, of any type!
ALWAYS looking for someone to go exploring, and/or have an adventure, with!
I have a twisted, omnivorous, sense of humor - most importantly I can usually laugh at myself, & at misfortune.
Am a firm believer in "That which doesn't kill you makes you stronger!"
I am non-linear, articulate, and spontaneous.
Other than that, I'm just trying to find interesting people, places, and things to do, in New York City, that I'm very new to... Want to hang out, and/or show me around? ;-)
I'm also really good at knowing a million and one random facts, & useless bits of Trivia. Good with Electronics, good with Kids, good with Animals. NOT good with Republicans, Bigots, or Shallow-Minded People, in general. Not very good with small-talk, either.
I really don't know what the first thing people usually notice, actually...
Like a wide variety of films, love independent and foreign films, love old movies, love a good scary movie, love the Cohen Bros, FFC, Kubrick, Tarantino, Monty Python, Jim Henson, David Lynch, Tim Burton, and well, just FAR too many to list... Some of my guilty pleasures, movie-wise, are Zombie Movies, Classic 'B' Horror movies, and Saturday Night Fever, but maybe I should leave that last one to most private things, lol...
Read WAY too much to even decently scratch the surface - the last few authors I've read were William S. Burroughs, Philip K. Dick, Gurdjieff, Ouspensky, Chuck Palahniuk, Dalton Trumbo, Vladimir Nabokov, Robert M. Pirsig, J.D. Salinger, and whoever wrote Freakonomics (can't remember off the top of my head) and that's just been in the past couple months!!!
Like good food, good wine, craft beer, and just about anything chocolate! Love to cook, & mix drinks!
I think TV rots your brain, but I still ocassionally indulge. Here recently it's mostly been News, Nature Shows, & Sherlock...
I'm the only one I know that will walk down the city streets picking up litter, on a semi-regular basis....
I do all my own sewing - repairs, haven't ventured to making anything yet (well, except for the obligatorily 'class-project' in highschool home-economics class.)
Lysdexics have more fnu...
