Amber and Kevin
I will never forget our first date: the classic Movie Night. It was Easter Sunday when I got a text for him asking me to a movie. We met up at the Oakview Theater where I got to take a glimpse at his actual face. I will never forget how nervous I was. He was sitting in his Jetta with a grey beanie thing that just made him look so cute. I kept telling myself, be calm, don't freak him out.
We entered the theater and purchased our tickets for 'Observe and Report'. After the movie was over we walked outside and it was raining. We ended up sitting in my car for about an hour getting to know a little bit more about one another.
We left each other with a quick hug and headed our separate ways. On the drive home I replayed our date. My cheeks flushed red with every thought. The next day, I got a text from him. He wanted to hang out again. My mind went crazy with questions that I almost forgot to text him back! I wanted to see him again, but then I asked myself "Shouldn't I wait at least a day to see him? Am I possibly sending the wrong signal? Is he only hanging out with me to try and get stuff from me...?"
I texted him back and said "Sure". We hung out at his apartment and watched more movies and had lunches at a few restaurants. I was really growing to like him.
Then, on April 15th, 2009, we went for a drive. He took me downtown and then over to Offet Airforce Base. I will never forget how nervous he was acting throughout our stroll. He pulled over and looked at me.
"I have something I want to ask you," he smiled nervously as he looked down at his phone, twiddling the little ball on his blackberry.
I knew what he wanted to ask. So I helped him a little. I asked him, "Are you asking me to be your girlfriend?"
He got a little flustered and mustered up some courage, "Yes, I want to know if you'll go out with me."
"Yes", I answered and with that we kissed a simple kiss to seal the deal.
And to this day we are still together and happy as ever. We brought a beautiful little boy into this world and are getting married very soon.
