Eliza and Zeb
My Ally, My Confidant, My Partner In Crime
I had just gotten out of an emotionally-draining relationship and been through a tumultuous breakup, so when I joined OkCupid, I was just looking for new friends. I talked to a few interesting, intelligent people in my area, but it never went past chatting online. Finally, I expanded my distance search and came across a girl named Zeb in Nashville who had a very high match percentage with me. I liked everything she had to say in her profile, but the clincher was that she quoted my favorite line from one of my favorite movies ("I'm a loner, Dottie, a rebel" from Pee-Wee's Big Adventure). I messaged her, actually never expecting her to reply because she seemed way too cool for me! Lo and behold, she did reply and we hit it off really well.
Shortly thereafter, Zeb suggested meeting up in Chattanooga where I live. Although I went into the meeting with the intent of friendship, and even though she was a little hard to read at first, it turned out to be more. Zeb was rather forward about what she wanted, but I was a little unsure about what I wanted because I was still healing from the breakup and wanted to take things slowly. However, we grew very close in a short period of time and after casually dating for just under a month, I asked her to be my girlfriend. I just couldn't let her slip away. Zeb is literally everything I could ask for in a person and more. Before I met her, I made a list of all the qualities I'd want in a person and she fits the bill perfectly. She is like a gift from the Universe, apologizing for all the the crappy relationships I've been through!
Sure, we've not known each other that long, but I love Zeb dearly and can really see us having a future together - I've never felt that about anybody before. She is not only my lover, but my best friend, my ally, my confidant, and my partner in crime! Messaging her is one of the best decisions I've ever made.
