Jenn and Mike
I was just about ready to give up on online dating, when a friend suggested I check out OkCupid. I wasn't sure if I wanted to do it, but I decided to give it a try. I went on a couple dates and nothing really seemed like it was going anywhere. I was ready to delete my profile, but then Mike showed up in my QuickMatch. We both rated each other with high marks and started talking. After about a month of e-mails, we decided to meet in person.
We met at a Starbucks that was halfway between both of our houses. (We lived about 60 miles away from each other.) It was early afternoon as we sat down and started sipping our coffees. I was immediately taken by his height (Mike is 6'10"), and he couldn't stop complimenting me on my eyes. We talked until the sun went down, when we both realized we were rambling and absolutely starving. We hugged outside (Mike had a cold), and headed to our homes. It was an amazing first date, only topped by our second which included a silly horror movie, some great Mexican food, and more awesome conversations.
A few weeks later, we were already meeting each others' families and friends for holiday get togethers. Then just about every weekend after that we spent together at either my place or his. We talked daily, through phone calls, e-mails and texts.
Fast forward to today, and we are just getting ready to celebrate our 10-month anniversary, as well as our first month in our new apartment together. We have both said that this is the healthiest and most loving relationship either of us have ever been in, and we are both so thankful that we found each other.
Thank you, OKCupid.
