• Hi! And welcome to my Music Lyric Recognition Test. I decided to write a test based on some of my favorite lyrics from various songs. There is no rhyme or reason as to what lyrics I select. These are just lyrics that have made an impact on me and stuck with me over the years. Each lyric that I quote will have four options to chose from as to who it belongs to. All of these lyrics are taken from music that I like which includes alternative rock, indie rock and pop rock. So if you're looking for hip-hop, heavy metal or country, you're in the wrong place. You also won't find a lot of songs that are currently getting a lot of top 40 airplay right now. So if you're interested in taking this test, then good luck. If you score high on this test, send me a messge. We may have very similar tastes in music. Good luck!

When you don't have anyone, no one can hurt you.

  • 2
Success on someone else's terms don't mean a fucking thing, I'm going over the cliff.

  • 3
If evil exists it's a pair of train tracks and the devil is a railroad car.

  • 4
Hate sits alone on the hood of his car, with little regard for the moon or the stars, lazily killing the last of a jar of the strongest stuff you can drink.

  • 5
It's hard to find a girl with a heart of gold when you're living in a four letter world.

  • 6
I don't want to be together, I don't want to be apart. I don't want none of this love for you honey, deep, deep down in my heart.

So we swam till our bodies were weak, I watched my true love get washed out to sea. I felt a terrible grip from beneath. The rvier took her but it didn't take me.

  • 8
You see I never thought enough of myself to realize, that losing me could mean something like the tears in your eyes.

While my mother waters plants, my father loads his gun. He says death will give us back to God just like the setting sun is returned to the lonesome ocean.

Daddy's rifle in my hand felt reassuring. He told me red means run son, numbers add up to nothing. But when the first shot hit the dock I saw it coming. Raised my rifle to my eye, never stopped and wondered why. Then I saw black and my face splash in the sky.

  • 11
I had a dream and you were in it. The blue of your eyes was infinite. You seemed to be in love with me which isn't very realistic.

We live in times where choice is frowned upon, afraid to even raise our voice in song, or speak our minds for fear of falling on the wrong side of opinion. Where has freedome gone?

  • 13
Well I woke up in mid afternoon cause that's when it all hurts the most. I dream I never know anyone at the party but I'm always the host. If dreams are like movies then memories are films about ghosts. You can never escape you can only move south down the coast.

  • 14
At night I drink myself to sleep and pretend I don't care that you're not here with me. Because it's so much easier to handle all my problems if I'm too far out to sea.

  • 15
Every spark of friendship and love will die without a home.

  • 16
Excuse me please, one more drink. Could you make it strong I don't need to think. She broke my heart my grace is gone. One more drink and I'll move on.

  • 17
I remember your face and I remember your grace. I remember, I remember, I just remember.

  • 18
I am a writer, a writer of fictions. I am the heart that you call home. And I've written pages upon pages trying to rid you from my bones.

She's got a cousin. In fact she's got about a dozen. She's got one in the oven but it's nothing to do with me.

  • 20
All the world is sleeping like a baby tonight. I want to see you dead, laying in the muddy ground. You're nothing to me, your're noting to me, your're nothing to me no more.

Me and Frankie laughing and drinking. Nothing feels better than blood on blood. Taking turns dancing with Maria as the band plays Night of the Johnstown Flood. I catch him when he's straying, like any brother would. Man turns his back on his family he just ain't no good.

  • 22
Baby, I am the cup who was washed out in the flood. When you love somebody bite your tounge all you get is a mouthful of blood.

  • 23
Heads down. Thumbs up. Two sips from the cup of human kindness and I'm shit faced. Just laid to waste.

  • 24
You're a hand me down, it's better when you're not around. You feel good and you look like you should but you will never make us proud.

  • 25
Catholic school, as vicious as Roman rule, I got my knuckles bruised by a lady in black. And I held my tongue as she told me, son, fear is the heart of love. So I never went back.

  • 26
And once I got drunk with Jeff I told him I was in love with you. But I love you like a brother so I guess that half of it was true.

  • 27
I have all these memories, I don't know what for. I have them and I can't help it. Some overflow and spill out like waves, some I will harbor for all of my days. I burned like oil, you grew like a flower, rising toward the magical hour. I was not yours and you were not mine. Our true love finds us when it is time.

  • 28
You always were the one to make us stand out in a crowd. Though every once upon a while your head was in a cloud. There's nothing you could never do to ever let me down. And remember that I'll always love you.

  • 29
Yes is my favorite answer. I took a dancer home, she felt so alone. We stayed up all night in the kitchen doing my dishes until the dawn. She said I know it's easy to have me. But I have seen some things that I can not even tell to my family pictures. And I'm full of fictons and fucking addictions and I miss my mother.

My heart is broke and I have some glue. Help me help mend it with you. We float around, hang out on clouds. Then we'll come down and have a hangover.
